The tops that are full outfits - I can't find any derivable ones anymore! All of the creators that made them (I guess I will not list usernames but all of the meshers that meshed the popular outfits in shop search) are banned T _T; does anyone know what happened / are there any more meshers that make FULL outfits? T_ T

The "creators" that made those outfits were actually mesh factories. IMVU denied them from earning money and they threw a hissy fit and left. This was good for a while and meant that honest meshers weren't being cheated out of sales and derives. Unfortunately they are back now posing as individuals. Whether or not you choose to support people like that is between you and your conscience.

A mesh factory is a group of people or a company who pool their resources to quickly and cheaply create products. IMVU accounts and the IMVU creator program are meant to be utilised by individuals.

While I totally understand the frustration these mesh factories created for meshers, the issue is that very few honest individual meshers do what they did, hence people are complaining about the lack of meshes. The really popular mesh factories were not popular for their speed, they were popular because they did not only offer meshes, they also offered a specific idea and an outstanding quality texture to go with their meshes while a lot of individual meshers just offer a blank canvas. Sure, a blank canvas is better for someone that has a lot of ideas and is great at making their own textures, but not for a less experienced developer who is still learning. So I can also understand why people miss them.

Even myself as someone who can create textures from scratch would prefer a mesh with even a simple texture over a mesh with only a flat black and white wiremap given. There isn't really a lack of meshers, there is a lack of meshers that are easy to derive from which is why these threads come up so often.

The bolded bit. CC you hit it on the head...People want something that is quick and easy to derive from...slap a texture on...something they don't have to put to much work into or make a texture from scratch...

they basically want to be the 'instant' creator and for it to look good from day one....

The meshes and textures are amazing, that's why both new and old creators love them :S that doesn't make anyone a bad person. It makes sense because obviously if a bunch of people are working on a product together, it'll usually be higher quality than a product that only one person works on. But I get that that isn't really fair because it breaks the rules and takes credits away from people who are following the rules.

No it doesn't make a person a bad person but it does make people lazy and not learn....if it's handed to you on a platter, why bother learning how to do it yourself....why avail yourself of all the tutorials people have done in the past to show how to make wrinkles and folds...

Of course a piece of clothing is going to sell better if it looks perfect right from the start....take a look at the long time creators here and you will see their growth over the years as they have practiced their craft....then you look at those that just start and have 'perfect' products from the start...simply because of the 'perfect' meshes and textures that are supplied....so for them there is no need to bother spending hours to learn to make folds and wrinkles....that's why when I do something and it looks good, I have pride in it because I know it's all my work from scratch.

Credits? Many of the people who are hurt the most by these shady companies don't think in terms of credits, they think in terms of money, of working here to pay bills. Sorry, but I think anyone who doesn't care about someone's livelihood is a bad person.

Mesh factories are cancer. They kill creativity, fill the catalogue with a bunch of hue changed replicas and generally make ethical meshers wonder why they bother trying to compete when it's a hopeless cause.

Now that they are back pretending to be lone creators doesn't make it okay either.

Just a question along the line but not quite mesh factories...but what about meshers who make and sell their meshes...multiple copies, for others to put in the shop....just asking and not pointing any fingers.

I appreciate the shoutout but I actually don't have that many. Since people started liking the RL/RLL sizes it's difficult to make outfits that include bottoms too as they don't really do so well these days.
