Home: Find It All Faster The All-New IMVU 3D Chat experience begins here.
  • Choose from the menu (My Profile, Dress Up, Chat Now!, etc.) to open a tabbed window.
  • Easily find your credit balance and set availability for chatting at the top.
  My Profile: Reveal Yourself Choose what you want others to know about you.
  • Your Profile contains your tagline, interests, and affinity details. It's best to completely fill out your Profile to help others find you.
  • When you're chatting, click on a person or their name to view their Profile.
  Dress Up: Dress with Success Wear something today that will have others talking!
  • Dress up before you chat to get ready. Whatever look you design will become your look on the Home screen and when you start your next chat.
  • To save an outfit, click in the Windows Taskbar to see the Friends window, select Friends > Outfits...
  Decorate: Make Your Room Your Own Personalize your room or just hang out.
  • The Decorate tools palette is the new way to make changes to your room. This tool also lets you "explore", so you can move about your room freely as well as edit the room.
  • At the bottom of the screen, pick "scenes" to select another room to decorate. Click the "i" to make a room your default.
  Find People: Find Someone with Common Interests Look for people who have similar interests and start new friendships!
  • Use the filters to narrow your search of IMVU's 35 million avatars by interest, gender, location, and a whole range of other attributes.
  • Click on a picture to view a Profile to learn more about a person before you chat, easily send messages and gifts, and of course, chat invitations.
  Chat Rooms: Join a Party of Your Choice Meet several people at once using searchable 3D Public Chat Rooms.
  • It's easier than ever to scroll through Chat Rooms. Get the details you need fast. Click on a room to view the room description, owner, and people in the room. In the Room Card, you can also click an avatar name to see a Profile.
  • Easily find exactly what you're looking for using filters and the search box. Go back to rooms you've marked as favorites, as well as recently visited rooms.
  Chat Now!: Don't want to search? Chat Now! Randomly Matches You! Let IMVU match you with someone new.
  • Chat Now! matches you with someone you've never met from around the world.
  • Start chatting instantly!
  Inbox: Your Messages, Now in the New IMVU! Send and receive messages and gifts from other IMVU users.
  • See your messages and friend requests without going to your Homepage!
  • Click a picture to see a Profile.
  • Send a message to anyone by clicking "New Message".
  Shop: Shopping in 3D Chat! Buy an entire outfit all at once!
  • Shop without going to the website. It's now easier than ever to try on a bunch of clothes and accessories. Use the Shopping carousel at the bottom of the dress up area to mix and match several items at once.
  • Trying on an outfit from the Outfit Challenge or Recently Saved Outfits? All the items will conveniently appear in the Shop's carousel!
  Buy Credits: (Coming Soon) Buy credits without having to go to the website!
  • Soon, you'll have the ability to buy credits without having to open a browser!
  • Whoo-hoo! Now that's something to chat about.
 
Where can I download the All-New IMVU?
It's simple. Just launch the 3D Chat window and a dialog box will come up prompting you to upgrade. Just click "Update Now" and that's it! The All-New 3D Chat will download and install automatically on your computer. You may also download it here.
Can I still use the old version of IMVU 3D Chat?
Yes. You can toggle back and forth between the two versions by simply changing a setting in the Friends window. Under the Settings menu, check or un-check "Use new UI". Once you change that setting, you'll need to restart IMVU.

Additionally, if you find that you experience any difficulty with the new release, you'll have the ability to go back to an older release if you choose to do so.
