Vice President of Marketing and Sales
IMVU seeks an outstanding acquisition-oriented marketing executive to help take this rapidly growing company to the next level.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Marketing and Sales (VPM) will be responsible for acquisition marketing (online and offline), public relations and branding. The VPM will also be responsible for managing IMVU's Head of Ad Sales. Working closely with a highly talented team of marketers, product managers, engineers, and designers, the VPM will define the marketing vision, strategy, and tactical plan for IMVU consumer acquisition. This is a "hands on," entrepreneurial job, with little staff support. The VPM should be passionate about articulating a great consumer experience based on deep consumer insights.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Company Level Responsibilities
- Serve on the Executive Team, "co-owning" company strategy and leadership
- Prioritize the company over the specific function
Marketing and Sales Responsibilities
- Manage all customer acquisition programs, including SEM, Google Content Network, Facebook, MySpace and other social networks, ad networks and affiliates, viral growth programs and SEO.
- Stimulate demand for IMVU's products and services, with particular focus on increasing the number of new paying customers to IMVU.
- Generate revenue via advertising sales.
- Create and articulate the company's marketing vision, including branding, key messaging, strategies and tactics.

Qualifications
In addition to a demonstrated and extraordinary track record of success, the selected candidate will have recent experience marketing a consumer-facing Internet or software service. Ideally the candidate will have worked in an entrepreneurial startup combined with experience from an established world-class organization. Experience in marketing via the top social networks is very desirable. Experience with a transactional service is preferred, along with the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in consumer marketing, both offline (via advertising, public relations and partnerships) and online (via banner advertising, blogs, website outreach and partnership and social network applications).

Senior Manager, Business Intelligence/Web Analytics
We are looking for someone with proven experience and success to help us build and lead our business intelligence function. This position will lead all business intelligence efforts as they relate to our consumers, product, business metrics, and competition. This person must be able to generate and compile large volumes of consumer data; synthesize the data into meaningful/user-friendly reports, and extrapolate and communicate key business insights to various stakeholders across IMVU. This individual must possess strong leadership skills, be able to work autonomously and effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment, and be willing to be hands on.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and automate daily, weekly and monthly dashboard reports including:
- daily revenue and performance reports
- customer acquisition sources (paid/natural search, keywords, campaigns, affiliates, etc.)
- site navigation and conversion funnel
- consumer 'engagement' for both our downloadable software application and our website
- economic reporting for IMVU's virtual economy
- Lead process improvements for data gathering and reporting of consumer behavior, product usage, and business results and the resulting analysis, interpretation and strategic insights
- Partner with Operations team to communicate databases needs, execute database setup plan and generate meaningful reports off databases (including writing and executing mySQL queries directly)
- Recommend and lead future initiatives and analytics vendors to move BI and data mining to next level
- Manage pipeline of analytics projects; problem solve through issues to deliver objectives
- Champion requirements gathering and alignment for all new efforts
- Work with Product Management team to prioritize projects and deliver them on time
- Understand business strategy and objectives an align to data available to drive new high value business insights
- Must be able to anticipate data needs and insights of the business and self-direct analytical projects and reporting initiatives
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of CRM and Data Warehousing concepts
- Strong capabilities with BI tools with proven hands on day-to-day experience
- Undergraduate degree or MBA with a focus on finance, marketing, or statistics; economics background a plus
- 5 to 7 years experience in a business intelligence role
- Advanced knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Thorough understanding of web metrics such as sessions, unique visitors, conversion, etc., previous experience with online communities, social networking, gaming, virtual worlds, and/or online subscriptions a plus.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, solver) and Access (build and maintain tables and queries)

Systems Administrator
IMVU is searching for a Systems Administrator to join the team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining software and systems to run IMVU’s production services. Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining servers, configuring and optimizing software packages, and providing reliable service to customers. Being a small company, the job may include some occasional IT responsibilities.
Please note that IMVU is a 24/7 service and this position requires sharing a pager schedule that includes some nights and weekends. Please do not apply for this position if you are unable to meet this requirement.
General Requirements:
- Must be willing to take 24/7 on-call duty for a week or more at a time where you will be the designated first responder to all production issues.
- Must be local or willing to relocate.
- Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds and willing to periodically travel to our co-location facility in Oakland, CA for scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance.
Technical Requirements:
- 2-5 years of solid experience dealing with 24/7 network operations.
- Must be extremely familiar with some flavor of the Linux Operating system (preferably Debian)
- Must have a good understanding of the UNIX shell including but not limited to the shell built-ins and some commonly used commands.
- We are mostly a PERL and BASH shop, so should be very comfortable coding with at-least one of them and should be able to read the other and make changes to existing code.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP protocol suite and general network administration skills.

Senior Product Manager
