For those familiar with the Muse's Alluvion web ring, (or for those only familiar with the writing contests) THIS is how I originally envisioned it. Thank you, IMVU for adding 'groups' and making this possible. This is a gathering of writers of fantasy, poetry, and of anything life throws at us. We don't control what our Muses throw at us. We can only mold it the best we can and see what works. Please leave all egos, harmful comments, and spam at the door. Bring with you encouragement, constructive criticism, and inspiration. ***Keep an eye out for writing assignments, challenges and contests! Enjoy!***

The Soapbox
Please investigate the various threads before starting a new one! If you create a new thread and it fits within another, it WILL be merged whenever possible.
When to make a new thread?
*If you have a challenge for the group.
*If you have a specific question about writing in general or want the advice of your peers.
*If you want a thread dedicated to only your own writing. Please title this thread "The writings of_______"
*If you would like to introduce a new form of poetry that is not yet listed. If you choose to do so, the first post MUST include an introduction to the form, with format clearly defined, and an example of this form written by you.
*If you would like a full critique or proof read on a piece. Do not post an entire novel on here :p. Keep critique requests to (roughly) 1500 words or less. Make sure 'critique' or some similar word is used in your thread title to make it clear that is what you are asking for.
In short, conversation, creativity, learning, getting to know each other and inspiration are highly encouraged. Spam and total disregard for thread headings are not.
Please feel free to invite other writers and friends! Every member SHOULD have that capability. If you don't, someone please tell me, so I can report it to bugs-n-such. Interested passers-by should be able to join with or without invite as well.

The Membership attribute of a group specifies how you may join the group.
Open: You may join the group at any time.
Invite only: You must be invited to join the group.
V.I.P. only: Available to VIP members only. Only IMVU VIP members may join. Click here to learn about the VIP program.

The Access attribute of a group specifies how the group can be viewed, browsed, or searched.
Public: Anyone can view the group. The group shows up in browse and search.
Private: Only members of the group can view the group. The group shows up in browse and search.
Secret: Only members of the group can view the group. The group does not show up in browse or search.
Help: Active Members
The "Active Members" panel displays up to six members who posted most recently to the group.
Click on the link "View All Members" to view all members of the group.

This icon indicates that this is an Access-Pass holders only group.

Help: Holla Board
The Holla Board is a place where members can write short messages for everyone to see. It is a quick and fun way for people to catch up with each other in a group. Unlike the Discussion Board which follows a more traditional forum style exchange, the Holla Board emphasizes what is happening right now and right here in your group. For this reason, messages are limited to 100 characters, and only the most recent messages are displayed.
A "new" icon (
) appearing in front of a message indicates that the message was posted within the last
5 minutes.To see the date and time when a message was posted, move your mouse cursor over the message, and a tooltip will appear that shows you the post date and time of the message.
Please note that if your message is deemed unsuitable for the group, it may be deleted from the Holla Board.
To post a message, click on the "Post Message" link. Please note that only a subset of the message syntax is supported for messages. Please click on the "Syntax Help" button to find out more.

The Soapbox is a (small) platform for the group owner to deliver a message to all the group members. It is a quick one-way communication between the group owner and the group.
