The Soapbox
Pixel Dolls are a unique style of Pixel Art, where the artist begins with a 'base' (which some call the digital barbie doll) on which they draw on clothes, hair, make-up, anything really! Pixel dolls come in all styles and sizes. The smallest, being sprites, such as these, which are most commonly found in old school video games.
The largest are realistic couple, or group dolls, sometimes incorporating backgrounds, props and sometimes not even using a base!
The Pixel Debate is raging (not really lol) over what tools exactly are classified as "Pixelling Tools" Some say that only tools that place pixels individually are allowed. Others, like me also include the line tool, curvy line tool, fillbucket and circle tools to the list of 'acceptable tools' as they do the same job as the pencil tool, only quicker and easier.
Though, one thing is for sure, in my books at least. Tools like the smudge, dodge and burn, which place pixels randomely and some people use instead of shading are definately not ok for pixelling.

The Holla Board is a place where members can write short messages for everyone to see. It is a quick and fun way for people to catch up with each other in a group. Unlike the Discussion Board which follows a more traditional forum style exchange, the Holla Board emphasizes what is happening right now and right here in your group. For this reason, messages are limited to 100 characters, and only the most recent messages are displayed.
A "new" icon (
) appearing in front of a message indicates that the message was posted within the last
5 minutes.To see the date and time when a message was posted, move your mouse cursor over the message, and a tooltip will appear that shows you the post date and time of the message.
Please note that if your message is deemed unsuitable for the group, it may be deleted from the Holla Board.
To post a message, click on the "Post Message" link. Please note that only a subset of the message syntax is supported for messages. Please click on the "Syntax Help" button to find out more.
