Content Creator News
We recently implemented a new rule that new Product page submissions cannot include dynamic content.
Last week, after identifying some malicious scripts embedded within Product pages, we swiftly disabled the use of JavaScript within Product pages. Because IMVU did not previously certify, review, or authorize dynamic content added to Product pages, we had no insight into code that could potentially cause unintended issue like broken pages, viruses, or unexpected results for you and the users viewing your Product pages. We did not intend to disrupt or upset our Creators. Rather, we did this to ensure the safety of our users, which is our main priority.
We are allowing Creators who have achieved Pro Creator status the ability to edit existing or submit new Product pages that may include dynamic content. We did this because we believe Creators Tier 5 and above are far too invested to include malicious scripts in their pages.
However, when we implement a longer term solution to further secure these pages, all Creators, regardless of Tier level, will be treated equally. Everyone will be required to restrict all code to the product description area of the Product page (visit the IMVU Blog to see screenshots), and Creators will be free to use JavaScript on their Product pages, confined within the specified area.
In order to reduce confusion, we will soon update the message Creators see when submissions are rejected to include a link to examples of what is allowed or not.
Thank you again for your patience as we continue to work towards improving the site.

We have resolved the issue affecting Product Pages. We are now working on implementing a new policy for Product Pages that will ensure flexibility for our Creators as well as safety for everyone.
For now, all previously submitted Product Pages with dynamic content and JavaScript currently in the Product Catalog will continue to function. However, any new submissions or edits to existing Product Pages can no longer include any dynamic content. This may include code that you obtained from a third party website to customize your page, such as Youtube videos or JavaScript.
We will automatically reject product submissions that violate these terms, so you will know immediately if your page includes any dynamic content.
Please visit the IMVU Blog to read more.
Thank you,

We recently launched a new IMVU Blog. This is where we'll post all official news, product updates, new feature releases, tips, and interesting happenings on the site. We'll still use Creator News to keep our Creator Community informed about important news specifically related to Creators. Occasionally, we'll post announcements here and link to the IMVU Blog where you have the ability to leave comments.
You'll find a link to the IMVU Blog at the top of every page between the Account Settings and Help links. But clever users should subscribe to the RSS feed (located in the top right column on the blog page) or follow us on Twitter (IMVUInc) to be notified when we post the latest news.

Are you an IMVU Content Creator who also designs clothing, furniture, or other products in the Real World? Have you taken your crafty skills from physical product making to virtual product making (or vice versa)? If so, we want to hear from you!
Please respond by submitting a comment to the IMVU Blog here.
Thanks!

Last week, we identified an issue that was affecting a small number of Creators and their Tier level. The issue was specifically related to the calculation of Tier level and is now fully resolved. If any Creator feels that this issue may still be affecting their Tier level, please submit a Help Ticket to Customer Support so they can investigate further. That said, any potential residual side-effects should fully resolve themselves when Tier levels are recalculated on June 1st.

You may have recently seen a new type of ad that we've been running on sites like Facebook and MySpace. It features a photograph of someone in real life and an IMVU avatar that looks strikingly similar. Well, we thought it would be great fun for some of our new ads to feature real members of our community, so we are launching the Cartoonify Your Avatar Contest!!
For more details, check out the new IMVU blog that we just launched (http://blog.imvu.com/). Bear with us as we iron out the kinks. Eventually, we'll add a direct link to this new blog from the IMVU global header under the community tab.
