I'm pretty sure anime does not have anything listed on their copyright terms for gaming "codes" especially ones like imvu. there's fate/stay an old school player already made archer's outfit it's just low quality. I've seen are neptunia avatars. naruto items are also on imvu and seem to still seem to be created with no copyrights striking them at all there's also a lot of Sebastian items from black butler and ciel the creators just aren't too good at creating them.

Since we can't go into legal stuff on the forums. ANYTHING that is created unless given permission by the owner is protected by copyright. Yes there are a lot of thigns on here that are made, just because people are breaking the rules, doesn't make it an ok thing to do. I honestly would love for some of those companies to come on here and start filing DMCA's against those creators. I think after a few times people would get the hint.

Sorry for the bad grammar I just hope imvu gets better and I really hope players put more investment on anime and game items so more players can get into the game. these suggestions I said pretty much seem minor and I would love to hear your opinion and suggestion ladies and gentleman Very Happy

Here's the thing though....IMVU isn't a game. Not in the traditional sense. It's a chat program that allows you to play dress up. Creative users can even engage in some very realistic role plays. But all in all, there is no final battle, there is no 'reward'.....The only 'quests' you have are to have fun chatting with friends or exploring for new ones. DLC might simply be a new room you purchase or some new clothing. But at the core of it all, the main focus is chatting.

sadly tho the copyrights for anime do not have the authority to do that.

a good reason for it is because coding something that's identical to an anime character does not fall in a violation of terms in they're copyright.

coding something is pretty much no different then you drawing art of a anime character.

coding falls into all programs imvu is no exception even tho you're creating products it will still be considered a code.

as a matter a fact due to these items being codings if companies were to start filling DMCA against these creators it would have no effect unless they shut down the entire imvu server which they can't.

hints why most of these naruto creators still create items because they know how copyright affects programs. even imvu knows this since I've seen some advertising of avatars with anime design.

if you're unsure here's an example that happened pretty much a long time ago.

There was a site called dueling network that used images of Yugioh cards that belonged to Konami. a company belonging to Konami shut down the site.

next, there was a site called ygopro that used a program that contained the Yugioh cards. the only thing the company could do was prevent them from having download links on the site because ygopro didn't violate any terms since their images were "coded". which doesn't do much since other players can send you the download links without a care in the world.

note I got this info from program developers. yea coding is a nemesis big time.

Aegenia is correct and you may be correct when it comes to coding. However, there is another layer of copyright protection and that is the IMVU Terms of Service.

In the examples you gave, they were operating as websites. As stated before, creators on here are operating as independent contractors. Their work is submitted to IMVU for approval. According to their TOS, IMVU has the right to terminate a product or creators account if they violate copyright laws.

IMVU Recently updated the ToS for creating to include "likenesses"

(including full character designs)

Even if the character itself is not copyrighted, and the creators of those anime and character encourage cosplay and go to conventions, IMVU no longer wants to have it.

Most cosplay stuff you do see is probably from older, inactive devs. Many character related things have either been changed to general tags, hidden or changed entirely from the catalogue.
