I looked over the forum and didn't find anything with that addressed my issue so if there is one please let me know. I have just learned how to make textures for hair, thanks to those that took the time to make the different videos that aided me in this task, however I have run into a bit of a stumbling block (at least for me those that I made the hairs for seem to love them) when I apply the texture to the product I am deriving from it comes out a different shade than what the texture I made is. I have played around with the material parameters to see if that did anything to change the coloring but it doesn't seem to do anything. Is there something I am not doing? A step I am missing?

Thanks,
Idy

Screen shots would help to show others what you are seeing....if it's in CM, then a wide shot of your settings is a great help also.

Some meshes use vertex shading, try unticking those boxes in the texture area. Other meshes seem to illuminate the hair, turning off self illumination fixes some but not all and in that case your only option is to find another mesh.

Also make sure your not wearing any body lights or the room your creating in has any.

Something's to check first anyways

What they said ^

The rooms can have very different lighting and that can change how a product looks, sometimes dramatically. I like to submit a product and, before publishing - try it in various rooms that I own and in the shop to see how it might change the look and adjust accordingly.

I am using the default create mode room. I don't have VIP at the moment so I can't change the room lol. Thanks for the tips though Smile

I just change from my room inventory, you don't need to have vip to do that. Smile

After hitting submit I go to the web page and click 'try it' and in the shop I can try on different rooms I don't own to see how it might affect the colors.

The product may be broken or your cache may be corrupt. Try doing a
Manual Cache Clean and / or Post the PID to see if anyone else can
change the product hair color.

I recommend a shadowless room, Lumina has some that are easy on the eyes and not too bright. Good luck ^-^
