A way to make rooms less boring is through the passport feature which would also replace the old outdated user card.

IMVU Passport would include

* Similar to the function and feel of an actual passport, allow users to track their journey on IMVU through the collection of Picture, quotes, new friendships..ect.

* Allow room owners to create their own stamp that can be put in the users passport

*Give the room owner the option to allow some products to be bought in room, and thus a receipt would show up in the buyers passport.

* Allow users to give away badges in room.

*Also other users could add your passport like adding a kiss or some object.

I love the idea of allowing people to buy items directly from the room. For instance, right click on an item and have a drop down that gives you the options to look at the product page or just "buy this item". I don't know if it would be technically possible, but it sure would be convenient!

I like the passport idea but I think it would run into resistance from people who would rather not share that information with the public (as to whose rooms they visited). It would have to be something the user could completely control.

Still I like your ideas! Smile

I'm with Bonkolina above; except that, ideally, you should be able to turn it on and off per room...so that you can control which rooms end up in your passport. Much better than an all-in or all-out toggle.

Overall, though, this sounds like a fun and creative idea. I like it.

Very Happy

Oooo...this sounds interesting. I'm not sure how much long term excitement it would bring...simply because knowing IMVU's way of thinking, your passport might get 5 pages....each page per room. Once full you'd have to purchase 5 more. (Much like a badge canvas).

Sounds like a really fun idea though....with some tweaks and more ideas on improving it....MAYBE IMVU might consider it. Gets my vote. It sounds like fun. Very Happy

1st the old saying must be said that only boring people get bored . In such it's my opinion rooms are boring due to lack of imagination from the devs or creators and the decorators within . IMVU thus becomes complacent with little versatility or difference in most of the rooms , it is all zombies , doing the monster mash . This isn't to come off as an insult to anyone or any room design , I've had as much fun on an empty palette of a room as long as the conversation is flowing . Equally the same amount of fun , alone exploring the incredibly decorated or detailed rooms . Basically what I'm trying to say here is it's more about the people you meet and everyone you greet . The asthetic natures come second hand to the users and are more for the individual designer/s personal accomplishments .

So again please no one take what I've said as an insult as I include myself in all you see above .

Now this passport gave me an idea which maybe useless or no one else may want to even see and perhaps nothing to do with the original post ideas .
Anyways . . on our homepages is a tab for the most recent visitors . I think it would be cool for IMVU to give us all free as a bonus / gift / item a wall poster - board that duplicated this recent visitors to page tab but different where it showed the last 12 or howsoever many visitors to your room .
Perhaps to include not only the name/ID , current profile pic and maybe a room link to their choosen favorite or featured room .

As for the passport idea it seems all well thought and a great new way to explore imvu so I'm all for it .

As far as saying rooms are boring, I don't agree with that. A room is as boring as the people in it and a passport card won't fix that.

However, I like the idea of a passport card. You have thought it out well and come up with ideas for the card that would interest people.

I am with Bratgirl and Bonkolina too, that you should be able to turn it on and off, and decide which rooms shows up on your card or not. Alternatively, room owners should also have the option to turn off this feature, so if you visit their room, it won't show on your card.

Ditto ^^

Clever idea, this passport thing Smile Seems it would appeal to the collectors out there and could be a good sales tool, yup.

I wasn't receptive to your suggestion, but I think you have some elements here that I think would promote more interactivity. Even though I've almost never collected nor cared about badges, the idea that room owners can stamp one's "passport" with a badge would be cool for those who do collect them. It's like Halloween going from door to door. Also, I'm not certain you meant this, but from your last idea, I would favor a passport or some interactive feature whereby people can leave certain stamps or emojis (like the kiss you suggested) onto the passport to show that one is interested in another, etc. like a yearbook. The inbox would still contain its purpose for existence. Those two suggestions, I'd favor.
