Hello, I want to be able to learn different ways and tricks for dealing with devs and textures and I am wanting to aim to make this product - but having some difficulty. I hope that you can be able to help assist me.

I have this product that is made into an add-on hoodie:


I would like to be able to make an add-on hoodie myself, and this add-on hoodie was originally devved by:



I know there is a way to remove the layers of texture that I do not need by blacking them out. However in this case, it just makes the rest of the jacket invisible and cuts off the avatar and doesn't entirely make it into the add-on hoodie I am aiming for. If you could teach me how I could achieve this and even use the same technique in the future for other possible good products, I'd very much appreciate it. Thank you!
