For skins no, but you can use the empty clothing for new eyebrow meshes (male and female available).

I think imvu have an empty accessory too but I've never used it. Just look through IMVU inc.'s catalogue to see what is available.

nah....you see, what i want to do is create facial hair meshes for different heads and make material products that will work across all of them. like how skins work across all heads.

i tried messing around with an eyebrows material (try to get it to override a different material). it kinda worked, but it always overrode the eyebrows as well.

thanks for the reply. but now i'm assuming it's impossible lol

There is no such mesh that exists (pretty sure). There are only meshes that have an overlay of the face (so if you look at it at an angle, the facial hair is floating).

I don't think what you are trying to do is possible. If it was, I think meshers would've made it by now. Even IMVU's Enhanced products (facial hair) has the same effect. It floats in the hair and isn't really attached to the face.

If you want to do what you've described, you need a specific mesh for every head that exists.

I'm pretty sure it is not possible to make a mesh that will fit ALL heads perfectly, as many have different placement for the features. When you make a mesh you should label it for which head(s) it works best with.

... I wonder if would be possible to *map* the facial hair [mesh] so that part of it takes texture from the hair color and part from the brows? I have done similar things deriving my ghost items, using the available mapping and skin, head and eyes texture. I can picture a beard mesh for instance with two colors either striped or speckled together giving the beard a unique look depending on which hair and brows are worn, if that makes sense?

At any rate, it's an idea. Smile

*edit to clarify - map the mesh so that it has two texture slots instead of just one. That way people can mix their own colors (for a candy striped beard! lol) or use the texture from the hair, brows, skin, whatever they want.

no, you see....it's the MATERIAL i want to work across all the meshes...first, i'm gonna make different facial-hair meshes for different heads, then --> make a single MATERIAL that will work across all of them. like how skin products work on different heads, this product has to work on different facial hair meshes.

say i made facial hair meshes for 20 heads. they all share the same uv mapping. now i want to make a new facial hair texture. i don't wanna have to submit 20 more products (and do it every time). i'm asking if there's a way i could make just one product that works with all of those 20 meshes.

so, someone who has 15 of those said meshes don't have to buy 15 different new products. i want them to be able to buy just ONE that works by overriding the textures on the 15 meshes they already own.

a product that will only switch the textures.

hope that was clear :]

I dunno, it sounds like a great idea, to be able to buy just the "beard skin" to work with the specific beard shapes already bought.

I think maybe somebody more knowledgeable [than me] can come up with how to do it. Smile

I still like the idea of making a two texture beard though.
I want to play with it. lol Wink

(I mesh only furniture so far)

*edit to add - You might post in the 3d forum about this as it is not just about the textures
