I really have not found anything I like. Here are the things that turned me off though:

First, I am a creator. NEXT offers absolutely nothing useful I can use as a creator. This is the biggest and most definitive factor of why I WILL NOT use NEXT. If I want to dev, look at derivables, view my reports, or anything else related to creating, I have to waste my time switching between platforms. No thanks. I would rather use the IMVU original site 100% of the time so I can access the tools and resources I need immediately at all times.

Second, I don't need nor want a chat client in my website.

Third, if I wanted to use a platform like Facebook or Instagram, I would go to Facebook or Instagram. I really don't want or need IMVU to reinvent the wheel by providing features that are readily available elsewhere (messenger, photo feed, chat client, etc).

Fourth, it looks and feels a lot like "the new" Myspace, which really never had that much appeal to anyone.

Fifth, the feed is not useful. I don't want to scroll and scroll forever. I would much rather see Photo Stream where there are rows of tiles and I can select the photos I want to see. If I click a user, I want to see their feed in a similar style as the original feed. Instead, we get a much smaller pop up "profile card" (which I also dislike), that we have to scroll through.

Sixth, it's laggy. All the new bells and whistles waste resources, especially if I am working on other projects with my computer. If I have to sacrifice something it will always be NEXT.

Seventh, forums and other highly used features are not listed on any menu so they are easily accessible. Instead, we have to switch back to original then go wherever we wanted to go in the first place. I prefer convenience and function over all these extra things that I don't use.

I can get the idea they had for next but they went about it so wrong. Like it is fine if your are on your phone but why in hell would I wanna use next on my computer??

The one thing I do like is that I can upload my own photos (but this gets abused badly Confused )

things I dislike:
The landing page. it is either an endless scroll or SO many tiles. I like photostream better. So busy looking

No matter how many times I switch the online thing to off, it always switches back to ONLINE. I'm not online. Then people try to invite me to chat. Which leads to ...

If I wanted to chat, I'd use client. I really don't like browser for that. Nor do I wanna use my phone for that

Shop icons are UGLY AS SIN. Horrible!

And worst of all are the profile cards! Honestly is this how imvu expects us to view our photos now??? One long feed that is small and just a popup? We don't get our own page anymore?? How is this a good idea? It is obvious this was meant for a phone and not computer users. Yet imvu is too lazy to upgrade it to be usable for computer + phone.

Imvu needs to take instagram as an example. They have a phone site and a browser site. Guess what the website looks like??? THE OLD PHOTOSTREAM

Imvu is basically downgrading when switching to this tiny layout.

Don't get me started on the dumb avatar header that pops up on your profile card. No thanks. That is what my profile image is for.

This ^^. Like you said, they are copying instagram/pinterest/facebook instead of staying unique. That is one reason I have stayed with IMVU - they are (were) unique. Next is not at all unique. It has become just another sheep in the vast web herd... Rolling Eyes

NEXT is not ready for use. I am trying to use it because I understand it came to stay, but I have a very hard time finding features I need. It's not that I'm fond of the original website or the patched up client. It's just that NEXT isn't working properly. I use a lot of similar things on my mobile and I find NEXT is substandard.

NEXT is not intuitive, it takes a lot of clicking, scrolling and click-testing to find the page you need. When everybody tries to reduce clicking time, IMVU adds to it.

It lands me on photostream. Why? I'd rather land on my messages and notifications. I log in to see my messages and probably chat a little. If I want to see photostream, I will go to photostream. There is no 'sort by newest' on photostream or any other way to personalise searches. Only 'explore' , which is like 'recommended'. I don't like 'recommended', it limits my freedom to see what I like. Are we in some sort of dictatorship of taste here? (Same goes for the original photostream, same complaint) Also, I'd like an in-client warning when we take pictures. Something like "please adjust image composition to fit in a square".

NEXT lags horribly. Basic pages like profile and messages take a long time to load. I'm not going to buy a $800 phone to play chat buddies and certainly not to read notifications.

I don't like the white mannequins in the shop but that's not why I want them removed. I want them removed because this --> o is not a hat and this --> __ is not a pair of boots. The catalogue hides, distorts and flattens products to the point they look like dots and lines (eyebrows, nails, tattoos etc). I can't find ways to see more details, derivation chain, larger image and a few more features that product pages usualy have. I speak as a creator but also as a customer who enjoys shopping on IMVU. For the moment, I wishlist what looks like it has potential, I go to the website catalogue to see how it really looks like and then I go to the client to try it. (No, I don't find the in-client shopping intuitive either). This is a very long and very frustrating process and I usually abandon IMVU mid-shopping and go play Township or something.

I don't like my profile card. It's ugly. I prefer the pictures I've chosen for my profile. They represent my taste, my mood and my IMVU character. The way IMVU displaysmy character annoys me. I've only recently realised that my NEXT profile shows the default avatar from when I signed up ages ago. You know, the old one with the old default items. On your card, you see your current one, but the real profile has the old one. I don't remember where it was, you may want to click around a bit to find it.

There is a temporary solution for that: bookmark your favourite public rooms in the client and they will be there when you log in NEXT. It won't help with chat now rooms, though.

That one is the only thing I like so far on NEXT. Very practical.

You don't need a catalogue to play with WithMojis in text chats or add "BFF" scribbles on your pics. The sign up items are enough. Tons of catalogue items are useless on tablet screens anyway and completely obsolete on phone screens. I'm not sure the "new" IMVU needs the catalogue.

Especially when even those platforms are becoming sort of old-fashioned already and they are nowhere near as hot as they used to be 6-7 years ago. I can see IMVU 12 years from now investing on flat design. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I simply want to be able to boot unwanted people from my rooms while on Next. I use the client for shopping, creating and taking photos but it really sucks that the client isn't stable for me. It does crash within 30 minutes of logging in, which is why i'm forced to use Next to chat with my friends.

This too. It annoys me to no end that every time I leave the app or my phone is off for a period of time, it shows me back online again.

I despise that its browser based.
I hate that its slower than a snail.
I hate that its one big giant cluster, all things are in one place.
I hate that you can unfriend and loose your marriage package or your shared room, by not having an "Are you sure?" button. <--but that is also needed everywhere.
I hate the ugly product pictures.
I hate how cropped everything is.
I hate that its a festering sewage pool for foul mouthed teens, that post and say anything there because they can get away with it.
I hate that its not familiar, in any way to imvu original. The format is not welcoming.
I hate that you appear online, and the button to go offline doesn't work.

I hate next.

What do i like about IMVU Next? Nothing.

Sorry but as a phone app on a android tablet...it is a lag fest...nothing really wants to load.

I don't like the catalog...and presently as a creator it offers me very little as I primarily texture rooms and furniture.

I don't really like the games...never have...if I want to play a game...I'll got to Facebook.

I'm really not big on a web based version of any virtual world. It will always have a lot of limitations.

If you are trying to attract the technology plugged in kids...it is going to need a serious over haul to actually get them to spend real money and to actually stay once they become bored.

How many of the IMVU Next are actually making purchases with credits and not the credits they have won via daily spin or just for logging in? I honestly don't understand why you brought back daily spin in the first place. For those of us that spend real dollars here...the daily spin is essentially useless because read credits are used before those credits.

This isn't the only virtual world that receives my dollars...and IMVU Next is a pale step child hidden in a lagoon compared to other apps used to connect. Sorry to be so blunt...but as customer for 9 years....I think I know what is good and what isn't worth my time and investment.

I don't know if I had made mention of this on this thread or not, but after seeing the thread about IMVU moving the Photo Stream over to Next, I have to say I actually enjoy the camera function to a degree.

While I don't like it being moved over, I do like the camera functionality.

Things I Like About the Camera

- The quality of the image is the same as someone using the *hires commands.

- Nice uniform shape

- Half the size of the *hires commands

Things I Don't Like About the Camera

- Unable to get as close to the avatar as the client camera without it pixelating the avatar.

- No ability to adjust camera angle

I would probably enjoy the camera a lot more if those two issues were addressed.

Something else I really really enjoy about Next and this carries over from Messages all the way into Chat Rooms.

When i'm typing, I tend to just let my fingers go on and do their own thing. I might miss a word here or there in the process. Messages as well as the Chat Rooms since they are both now web based, have Spell Checker.

Granted I don't mind typing in typoneese, but I think for those that do worry about it. It's nice that both Messages and Chat Rooms provide the little red underline.

I do not like the locker room, I do not like the store, too impersonal and the creators have none to try to showcase Mad

I hate that IMVU have thrown every single furniture and room mesher and dev under the bus with the creation of NEXT.

So yeah, IMVU gave us a giant F U when they created it

I wont use it, i hate it. There is nothing to like about it.

I have 2 different ways of looking at this and maybe I am onto something, or maybe I am way off.

View 1: Next as a whole is just a satellite program. It's not designed to be like the client where every feature is available. It's seems to me that Next is more of a go in check pictures, chat a little bit while on the go and hop on the actual client when you have more time to dedicate.

View 2: (What I feel is happening) Anyone that watches how IMVU works, knows that the way the deploy their product is in baby steps. With what Todd has made mention of there is going to be a "new catalog" I don't know if that means that creators are going to have a new way to create things on Next, or if what we see as the current catalog is going to be replaced (I think it's most likely that the whole current catalog layout on Next is going to be replaced with something new.) Which would make sense with how IMVU deploys their product. Release something and than adjust it. It could actually be a mixture of both.

I honestly think the only reason why there is even an option to shop on Next, even if the current state is a disaster. Is so they can work on recreating the catalog, it's really just a place holder.

People just have to remember that the Unity engine is still relatively new, and they have to get things in place so as to be able to utilize it. If these steps are not taken, than what IMVU is envisioning can't happen.

Just something that came to mind.
