Due to the surge of tier related threads and because there are many duplicate topics concerning tier levels moderators have created one thread for tier level discussions. All tier level threads will be locked by moderators and directed to this thread going forward. This thread can be used for any and all tiers issues, concerns, bugs, sharing tier levels and general discussions. When this thread reaches 100 pages it will be locked as per the forum rules and Moderators will create a new thread.

Rough outline of Tier stats thanks to WickedAngel: Here

All forum rules apply to this thread. All Images should be 500x500 or less. All forum signatures should 500x150 or less.

The forum rules can be found and read here: Forum Rules

All Developers should read what tier levels are before posting. Developers can read about tier levels in the creator center. Click: Here

Last Tier Thread: Here

Thread before that here.

*Spamming for tier points is not allowed. Spam posts will be removed from any of the developer forums as needed.

Peer review votes and tiers:

1. Do incorrect votes hurt my Tier Level or count against me?

A. No. You will be credited for participating in Peer Review. All votes count towards your Tier Level. An incorrect simply means that other Users’ passed a product and you didn’t.

---

2. My Peer Review votes are disappearing. Why is this happening is this a Bug?

A. Tiers and Peer Review go hand in hand. Tiers are calculated in three month increments and update every month. Peer Review votes start dropping off every three month period. So if you average 500 votes a month then 500 votes will be removed for the prior three month span to accommodate the new three month span. Votes disappearing are not a bug, it’s being done on purpose to count votes that go toward your Tier level for the three month span and to remove outdated votes that have already been tallied. It’s an automatic cleaning process.

Your votes will not disappear all at once. It will be gradual but noticeable until all old votes have been removed. Then your new votes will start adding up.

My Guide on how tiers work.
http://pixelpusher.us/learn_marketing_tiers.html

Most Common Questions:

When do tiers get updated?
At the first of the month, workday time in the Pacific time zone. If the first of the month falls on the weekend or a major US holiday they can be delayed a day or two.

Can I loose my tier level?
Yes, your level can go up and down.

I should be a higher Tier. Why didn’t they add up all my points?
The 2 spare/unused metrics are not part of the total.

What level do I have to be to get the ‘Pro’ label?
Tiers 5-7 have the Pro tag.

Why did mine change what points are used?
The categories chosen to be listed as your unique scores are the ones you scored highest in, if they have changed order that means you scored better in another category.

Why does my friend have Peer Review as a unique metric and I don’t?
PR must be a category they score top three in their unique metrics in while you must score your top three in other categories.

How can someone with only a few products be ‘Pro’?
The have enough sale of those items and done enough activities to have earned it.

What forums count for posting?
Any of the Content Creating forums: CC General, Stickers, Texturing and 3D.

Hope that helps!

Spam posts are removed by forum moderators and do not count toward tier levels. Examples of spam would be posting thank you to tutorial threads, bumping old threads, repeating what has already been stated to multiple threads, posting nice, good, great , Smile . If we post for tiers we have to join in. Posting is done over 30 days and should not be done all in one day. It is against the forum rules to spam and disrupt the forums with unneeded posts.

July: April, May and June
August: May, June and July

November: August, September and October
December: September, October and November

A ROUGH EXPLANATION OF EACH METRIC.

CORE METRICS

Sales Direct:: Are sales of products you have made or when you have derived off of your own mesh and the derivation has sold.

Sales Derived: These are sales of other peoples items that have been derived off of your mesh or item that has been left derivable by you.

Income Real Credits: This is the sum total of your profit of your products that have been bought with REAL credits.

Income Promo Credits: This is the same as Credits Real but the purchases are made with Promo Credits.

UNIQUE METRICS

CC Forum Posts: These are posts in the following forums, CCGen Forum, 3D forum, Texture Forum and Sticker Forum, that are helpful to other users, asking for help, giving help or joining in a current conversation that is rellevent. Spam posts are removed by mods and aren't counted towards your tier score. Please refer to DA's post about Spamming for tiers.

Products Recently Submitted: This metric is solely for the last three months worth of products you have submitted. So anything done before the last three months will not be counted in this metric. Basically they fall off after three months.

Products In Catalogue: This is the total of all the items in your catalogue. This is the only metric that constantly updates as you submit. All other metrics only update when the Tiers script is run at the beginning of each month.

Peer Review Activity: This one is pretty self explanatory. It's the number of PRs you do over the last three months.

Product Rating: This is obtained when someone who is gifted or who has purchased your product goes to the product page and leaves a review and marks how many halepeno's it's worth.

Remember all tier metrics update once a month except Products in Catalogue.

The other thing to remember is that there are Five Unique metrics that can count but only your 3 top scoring ones will count towards your tier score. Those that are in the Spare Metric area DO NOT COUNT. But it's upto you which three of those Unique metrics you work on to help your tier score. They can swap about if you end up with higher points in one of your Spare metrics than one of your Unique metrics has. Once you have maxes out your Unique area to 9 points, then to go up in tiers it's all about sales.

The recent spam posts just like any spam for tiers posts are removed from the creator forums and do not count or effect tiers.

I will take this chance, posting in the forums should not count for Tiers.
I dont know why but is starting to bug me.. lots of pp posting whit the wrong advise , they try to make it no to sound like spam but is even worst.
I dont know, maybe is just me and I need a brake away from the forums.
But I see these kind of post everywhere.
the Chinese spam is easy to avoid but reading the wrong advise and trying no to post and be rude is getting to me..lol

Totally agree Jman....that's why I posted what I did on about page 97 on the last thread and I might bring it over to this one also. There needs to be an overhaul of tiers to stop the spamming for tiers as we see in the second half of the month and even more so this month.

@ Candy: while I see the removal of the korean spam, a lot of those spamming for tiers have their posts still in the forum which hasn't been removed. I did note that one spammer about a week ago had their posts removed but many many have remained that have spammed in the last couple of days.

@GloriaDesires: Those numbers aren't high really at all when you consider those numbers are for a 3 month period. So it's basically 1 post every two days over that time frame to get the 3 points.

I think they hit the forums on the last day in the hopes that their new tier will be calculated before their spam is caught and removed.

Might be worth at least considering changing the forum posts used period from the 15th to the 15th...so that the mods always have plenty of time to catch and remove the spam posts.

Or, if I'm completely off-base, just pat me on the head and give me a cookie.

Changing the dates may screw up the actual tier script is the only reason I can see an issue with the idea..

Personally I still think getting rid of all the Unique metrics and just making it based on the core metrics would be the best option since they removed the gifting counting.

but I'll give you a cookie anyway Laughing

They should update tiers per user - just like they pay us....
I am being sarcastic..

BUT just so you all know...
Tiers information is skewed.

The Tiers program has never been mathematically correct. It puts up a great facade.

And you might say "Chicka! How can you say this with such conviction?"

Well I have a slew of accounts and I have to manually update my levels. Still.

So if my active accounts are not updating - they are not being included in the grading curve. If they are not included in the grading curve - they are not being included in the factual figures of those who DO update with the script.

And how many accounts are out there...with users who hobby dev and never look at their levels?

How many inactive accounts (meaning people who may not be submitting much) are sitting there making the statistics skewed because they "count" but make it look like there are more on the lower end of the curve?

They should do away away with the tiers program.

The perks are not worth it.

People earning well here...can afford the credits to submit more. They don't "need" that "perk".

So what's left as a perk....you get a shout out to run right away?

Dear IMVU,

Please change or remove the tier program.

Thank you,
Notorious
