Anyone experience this before?

Staff give you an Old Account Back on a Completely new E-mail...

Now Staff sends you a Password Reset to this E-Mail...

You don't ever get the E-Mail no matter how many times Staff sends it to you...

But what if this Account gets the E-Mail...

So you have a Temp Pass & a Link...

So you go to Sign-In with Temp Password...

Then Fill out the Reset Password Form...

But here is where the Bug is...

What if you Reset your Password, then go to Log-In with your new Password, but the New Password does not work, & Temp Password doesn't work either...

Now you are stuck, & have to ask Staff to Reset your Password all over again... & same thing just keeps Repeating...

Anyone experience this Bug before?

If staff has already given you control of the account, then you can reset the password yourself.

Oh, believe me, i've already done this, i've used the Account already...
with my New Password...

Thats not the problem, the Problem is The Account randomly just stopped working by it's self for no reason...

IMVU Staff said that it's not Disabled...

So that means there is a Problem either with the Account, or my New Password...

Which is fine, just Request a Password Reset, & everything is good... Right?

Wrong, Password Reset doesn't make your Log-In Work...

It's suppose to, but it's not...

My other Accounts Log-In just fine, why this one does not, I dunno...

Always make sure your email is working correctly. Most of this can be avoided by having a good working email account. You can test email from IMVU by setting options Here on your account page. I like having some email coming from IMVU on a regular basis so I continue to know all is working.

If you email address is not working, this is usually what happens is uninformed people start flagging IMVU messages as SPAM on any given email provider. When enough of these are accumulated, that email provider automatically starts filtering those emails as SPAM based on flagrant reporting from their users.

Example: If a user on Hotmail has ever flagged IMVU messages for SPAM (in the past) many times, it is likely the Hotmail logic would/will/can filter them for only that user. It may trigger at any given time. Not all users of that given email provider but just the one user may be effected.

This is why I have stated for people to add all the email addresses from IMVU to their addressbook and send each of them a short test message. The messages will probably come back with an error as the email address are to send mail and not designed to receive mail. The error is okay. This process is meant to let the user's email provider know you want email messages from these addresses.

Look for a SPAM Exception List on your email provider and add all the IMVU email addresses to that exception list. I know AT&T, Yahoo and others have these "Not SPAM" Lists for their email users. This may trigger the filter logic to work correctly. Personally I think the logic for SPAM mail is very flaky on Hotmail. It works one way for a while and "changes it's mind" later. This is another reason I recommend a more reliable email provider for important email.

Some addresses that should not be considered SPAM are:

forums@imvu.com
imvunotify@imvu.com
no-reply@imvu.com
noreplay@imvu.com
verify@imvu.com
case_reply@imvu.com (note the underscore between case and reply)

There are probably many more but by looking at the Sender for old received emails from IMVU you can add to the list accordingly.

Also look for a SPAM email Address List. If it is there, remove anything from IMVU.

Follow up on your help ticket if you feel the need

I would stay with your help ticket. IMVU Staff can see everything on the account and they will direct you on what is needed.
