Regardless of whether IIMVU has been hacked as of today's date or not it simply isn't enough for me at least to take Varsha's or the CEO's word for it that this site is secure from hackers wishing to obtain such personal information required. Is there a VeriSign, secure place to send personal information to IMVU? I haven't tried to sign up for real cash or anything just yet. Been skimming through ALL these post. It's the law to pay taxes, but IF a breech of your security does occur and my personal information regardless of how you have obtained it, via, email, online forum, snailmail ...will it be secured? If a breech does occur what actions do you have in place to secure my personal files and files for credit reporting agencies, banks etc? These are all questions that need replies and responses to perhaps ease this concern. So many HUGE companies this past year have been hacked so don't think for one instance IMVU is safe from such a target and perhaps will become more so now that real cash and Real personal information will be given and crossing wires and stored.

Call me stupid or whatnot, but I don't easily turn over information that could ruin my credit or my life for simply a cartoon. Thanks for listening.

Do you have a bank account? Buy anything online?

Perhaps we need to ask for better service from imvu's help department with all this crap thrown at us. Compensate us that, please?!

Give us a help desk that actually listens, knows the ToS, will follow the ToS, and stop giving canned answers that have nothing to do with what the help ticket is about. Give us a fully functional CS that can actually work properly.

Do this . . . and you'll some happier customers.

No no no, we need to say we DON'T want a help desk that listens, that we DON'T want good customer service!

I think I'm getting it now. IMVU doesn't give us what we want, but loves giving us what we don't want.... Omg I've figured it!!!!!

Holy ***. How did the rest of us miss that!

YOU HEAR THAT, IMVU? I DON'T WANT FANCY GRAPHICS ON THE CLIENT!

For IMVU to be able to charge, they have to have security audits performed on their servers.

As for "VeriSign", that is a company that provides SSL certificates. On pages where personal information needs to be entered, they have an SSL certificate on a subdomain. http://prntscr.com/6rud6r

Thank you ^_~ Someone actually responded! yay!

I only derive and only do this for fun. I feel sorry for all those that have to take a lost. The artist are always getting hit the hardest. If not for the artists some of our pages icons dps or product pages would not look so hot. The resellers were important because they made it affordable and gave us a bang for our buck. The customers that refuse to buy from imvu might be one of the creators loyal ones. If ur a small creator like me then the small amount of credits that you do get will be down to none. It affects all not one or two. I just hope that at least imvu can do something special for the artist and also the ones that make textures.
As far as the credits add more then u have listed with more prices that way you can decrease the price.
I can't lie I am a big fan of imvu but it hasn't been the same since I started.

I think one of the things that is getting lost in this conversation is that creators are not the only ones who buy from resellers. I don't care if IMVU cuts their creator fees or not. If they do away with resellers, regular players will be hurt too. It will not just limit my ability to create, but it will also limit my ability to purchase in the game, as I do not buy credits from IMVU.com.

I agree with you, and same here I won't pay for credits on IMVU.com.
And, what a lot of people already said in some of the earlier threads a lot of people get ban from buying on IMVU's site. I know I did a few years ago for having three different debit cards. One that was my boyfriends and two that were mine. And, they locked it where I couldn't buy credits from IMVU site until I called and complain about it.

Same happened to me.
Ever since then, I've always use IMVUCE for all of my credits.
I don't have to wait hours/ days for them; it comes instantly.
Last time I've purchased credits on here on a different account, I had to open up a case, regarding the recent purchase of the credits, which never came.

Also, I don't think the current customer service help program is sufficient for people who are participating in this program. You have the live chat, but that's only for VIPs. Lots of creators are grandfathered into this program, and I think a live customer service via phone would be the best.

People are giving you secure information and if any issues arise, then they are going to want immediate assistance specifically for the problem they are having.

Plus, after the release of Live Chat the wait time for tickets is now 10 days, not 7. even though somehow in this chaos they found my name change request in 4 days (thanks btw).... but still. And even if you have the staff is everyone trained enough to handle this? Or do the staff just look at something, go "Ok" and then hit a button. Like what is happening to my information once I give it to you?

That ticketing delay is long over. IMVU responses are super quick now. Even though the recommed days is 4-5 for non-vip, I got mine in a day.

Ok. Every person is entitled to their opinion. You do not have to agree with it. It is also not a reason to start bashing and bullying. If you do not agree with me that's ok. I have a mind of my own and my own opinions as do each and every one of you.

That being said, I will still make badges with all the credits I have. I do have a responsibility to my EEB's and I won't let them down. I have bought credits from resellers and IMVU both. I have developed, bought layouts, art, badge images. I have supported many people on here for a long time.

The United States has departments. Departments are major US government entities that handle specific things. The US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) governs our tax laws. If the IRS has knocked at corporate IMVU's door and said you MUST do this, they really have to comply or face major penalties, fines, and sometimes when you don't comply with them there could be jail time. It depends.

It is up to each individual on here to either keep creating and sign the new creator rules, or just don't create. You don't have to sign it,. I personally will not but that is my choice. For me. But I still intend to make badges and enjoy my friends company and buy art when I want to. My choice.

I get that, but I was just saying, they wouldn't be able to do it here in the US anyways. They shouldn't do it for non us citizens either. If we are to be considered self employed, we are responsible to pay our own taxes, and not having the company take them out for us.

I have been filing taxes/working since I was 15. I have also taken an accounting class that helped me open my eyes about taxes. One thing is, if you are self employed, you have to pay your taxes after you file, unless you have enough deductions. So why is IMVU claiming to take a 30% hold on non-us citizens for so called taxes?(That's my take on it.)

That is only for non-us persons who don't claim taxs etc in their own country. So that 30% is a security for IMVU.

~YMCMB

Whether or not you pay taxes in your own country is irrelevant to the 30% being withheld or not.

Varsha just said 500 people signed.
Not that they asked for this.
