Here's something that deserves attention; very important stuff. You have my support on the general idea of having a more protective system in place.

So I haven't read through every post, but from what I've read:

Cassi, I like your requirement of a verification to accept credits. While obviously the idea of using IP would be next to impossible to actually implement (and other problems that others have pointed out), there should be more security with these transactions if we're going to be held liable for whoever sends credits.

I read talk about a vacation setting: Couldn't all of these raised concerns be addressed by having a filter system for receiving credits? You could have three settings looking something like:

Receive credits from: (Dropdown box here.)
Option 1: Anyone
Option 2: Friends
Option 3: Nobody
Option 4: Specified "Individuals" (for a lack of better terms).

Just throwing out ideas to bounce around.

@ Akamu - thanks so much for posting your support to this suggestion.

I personally don't see the point in the vacation mode, or even in the options that you suggested, because you'll have to manually approve every credit transaction before the credits arrive in your account anyway... So allowing from friends only or certain people only seems a little superfluous.

If you don't approve the credit send (and don't decline), they'll just sit there pending till the person sending those credits takes them back (or the transaction expires? perhaps they could put a month-long expiry on all pending transactions, so they're automatically declined if not approved after a month)

I'd rather have an option to automatically decline all credit transactions that come from users not on my friends list because unless I have a badge up for donation there is no reason for users not on my friends list to even send me credits.

I understand that. I think it's a matter of convenience. Not everyone is going to want to confirm all of their transactions when already dealing with trusted individuals, especially if they deal in credits often. It just seemed like it'd have broader appeal with some automatic options; giving it flexibility and what not.

Edit: FatalPoison helped make my point.

Here's hoping that IMVU actually pays attention for once!
