I was talking to a friend, and I completely agree with her. I think we should be able to as many tracks from the same artist as we want. We paid for it, we should play it how we want to. If we cant play a album by one artist, why have albums to buy in the shop?

I totally agree, we should be able to put together our mixes from tunes we but from the music store with no restrictions as to the number of songs by the same artist.

I completely Agree with you Not everyone likes the whole album either would like to play the 3 or 4 songs that they have on one mix instead of making like 3 or 4 mix just to get it on a mix or atleast charge less for them since you cant do as you please I mean for 648 credits you should you be able to do as you please if it was cheaper like 300 its whatever still bull though

I agree with this this. It would make it more easier to make a mix.

IMVU isn't allowed to do that with their current music license. They could get another license but it wont be cheap, and I'm sure they would make us pay more money for songs in order to break even. The rules, such as two songs per artist per mix or a minumum of two people in a room to hear music, are rules IMVU has to follow or else they lose the ability to provide us music. Would you rather make multiple mixes to play more than two artists, or would you rather have increased prices for songs?

Ok there are one of two license types required when streaming services are offered.

Quote:
Why can I only have two tracks by the same artist in a mix, and three mixes total?

The Music Store operates as a streaming radio service, as noted previously. There are two types of license for streaming radio: "Interactive Radio" and "Non-Interactive Radio". IMVU holds the Non-Interactive license. The IMVU Music Store limitations are required by the licensing, rather than by a record label or the music provider.

Interactive Licenses cost vast amount of more money and operate on a sliding scale of cost linked to eqarnings. The starting basic cost of a Interactive License would end up resulting in the cost of every single track in the store having to be increased in cost. Do you really fancy paying a lot more for the same service and each track costing you more than buying a track out of the Itunes store would cost.

I agree, but I don't think IMVU has much control over this. It's a matter of licensing and their agreement with their music provider.

I know I'm probably a dying species here but.

I'd actually not mind paying more per music track if it gave me more possibilities to use it.
Afterall thats always how it goes.

You want more to it? You pay more.
That only sounds logical- And I wouldnt mind at all.

Perhaps IMVU should then not allow the purchase of a full album if you have to fart arse around with creating mixes.

I steer away from buying full albums because it's a pain. I am very sure that IMVU can cut some sort of deal as it's also advertising these artists to the greater public. I think some innovating thinking wouldn't hurt.

I too wouldn't mind paying more for songs, if imvu had a better music library and if they could guarantee the song I can play one day, is the next told I can't get it in my country.

It would just be throwing good money after bad, unless imvu can have a bigger music selection and a better guarantee that we can play our songs, or a guaranteed refund when songs will no longer play.

I ENTIRELY agree! If we have a favorite artist, why can't we enjoy that without having to put their songs in different mixes Mad. There needs to be an update for being able to do this.

If you read the previous posts all the way through, it's been mentioned that it's the license IMVU has that sets the limitations on how songs are played. IMVU will have to change the type of license it has to lift the current limitations and seeing how the focus is on NEXT and Mobile I wouldn't count on this being a priority now.

IMVU perspective - it will cost us more and we will have to charge more .
when in fact they would earn more than the current system promotes , this is just the way of the online world and common mistake of companies . the whole theory of an upfront cost being transferred to the users in a higher price per unit is silly . otherwise the saying it takes money to make money wouldn't hold water and believe it or not works 100 % of the time in proven business for profit actions .

IMVUSER perspective - OMG I have to CLICK again ! I already have push button finger . . how annoying ! when in fact pushing a button is what we are here to do so its really not that big a deal .

Reality - anyone who wants to buy favorite songs and support those favorite artists is going to pay even double the current price ( which it would not be even close to double ) without much hesitation besides having to save up enough credits . . Now at a higher cost sales go down a fraction . . Yet at a higher cost the small percentage of profit to IMVU getting their cut increases , this is undeniable otherwise every other site who does it that way would fail , yet they do not and they do indeed profit or would not be doing it . Again fact of the matter is imvu sometimes for its own self interest does not look out for the users best interests , this has no valid argument that will convince me otherwise . Which isn't to say not to argue or interact with me here your valued opinions even if opposing . just saying my proofs will probably outweigh your delicious puddins .

In my honest opinion, sure its annoying not being able to play your songs you paid for when you are by yourself . . But i can fire up youtube or itunes et al and play those same songs . . no biggie dealio . Equally annoying to have to make multiple playlists and push the button a few more times . But honestly its really no big deal and if imvu prefers not to think like a user and kick itself in the butt earning less than they would the way they think they wouldn't . . Its all part of the fun that imvu is to me and makes me giggle .

-

The rest of this has nothing to do with anything and is off topic sorta . .
so stop reading now if you are easily offended . .

-

Ya'll/WE the people are part of what I originated and call " generation click " copyright tm and patent pending incompatentstatinco . By design living in a faster faster you fool you fool world ! It'll never be fast enough and the dis-satisfaction in such complaining about any wait times is part of the passion that actually keeps us active and while seemingly unsatisfactory is actually a big part of the enjoyment . CMON! Whats the hold up ! beep beep - click click . don't road rage and buckle up for safety . We are always in such a hurry . . to get no where . .

The other day I'm waiting in the car and a lady friend rushes back from a shop jumps in and throws it in reverse then starts road raging that someone was behind her . . If she only took the one moment to buckle her seat belt the car behind us blocking her would have moved as they moved a few seconds after she started yelling about it .
It was quite hilarious in action but scary because I want her and others to be safe behind deadly weapons that cars are . Even funnier is we were only going to drive a short distance around the corner to another shop and could have walked almost as fast . oh btw at the shop we were going they didn't have what she was looking for anyway . . but it was still a fun trip and the inadvertent yet obvious ot me flirty shoe salesperson was pretty cool to meet too , plus she gave me her phone number . . Embarassed

As much as I'd love this, I'm unsure on whether IMVU can do so.

I'd definitely be willing to pay more....especially if it gave us more in return. A better library, the ability to have more then 2 songs in a mix off the same album/and artist, etc.

I think IMVU should ask the community if it is something they (IMVU) should pursue....and would we be willing to incur the higher costs of music if they purchased that upgraded license that LR mentioned.
