Thousands of women are affected by Breast Cancer all around us. Some of our community members are thriving and surviving the disease while some are fighting it. Many of you have women in your lives who are also fighting the battle or have fought it to a good or bad end.

If you feel comfortable, do share the inspiring stories of people you know and show your support for this cause.

Also, you may be part of an organization supporting this cause. Do share what that organization or charity does to support breast cancer research.

My nana was a breast cancer survivor from the 60s. Back then they didn't do the treatments we know today instead the way she got rid of the cancer was not so much remission as a mastectomy. They took the affected breast. She ended up living a full life until her passing in 1990 and her passing had NOTHING to do with the cancer that affected her in the 1960s. If it had taken her I would not have had the time I did with her which will always be priceless. She taught me how to cook many Scotish dishes as she was a Scot born in Glascow raised in London. She was an ambulance driver for the Red Cross during WWII and immigrated to the US in the late 1940s.

Hello, I am 39 years old and my name is Cristina.
In 2013 found out I had breast cancer, early diagnosis was that I had to remove only part where she was the tumor.
After the surgery, I went through 33 sessions of radiotherapy. I did not need chemotherapy because the tumor was only 8mm, but it was a tough time today with great faith and claw surpassed.
I'm still having treatment and it will last for 10 years of routine screening, but the scare passed.
Thanks to early diagnosis, I'm cured.

Sorry mistakes, my English is bad Embarassed

Well, About 3 almost four years ago, My dad started to date his now ex girlfriend. She has cancer, She had it for 6 years now. About a year ago she had to go to hospital awhile I was seeing family in other state and my dad told me over the phone that they thought she wasn't going to live but after 2 months I do thing. She got and I was horrible to her at that time, I really didn't understand then how it really bad it was. I feel stupid for yelling at her and her son wasn't that much better and he treated her like crap too. I should of done something then and now her and my dad aren't together she doesn't have the money to get the help she needs for her cancer and her son doesn't have job and he's out of high school. I hope that there's something out there one day that will fix the cancer. Were Its gone for good.
Crying or Very sad

My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer at 27. We are very close, so to say that it was hard on me was an understatement. However, it was caught early thanks to her self exams, and they were able to remove it quickly without too much issue. Ladies, please remember to do your self exams. Had she not, she may not be alive today.

I'm glad I caught this event. When I was ten my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was treated and fine for 6 years and then she was diagnosed with bone cancer. She passed away within a year. Honestly, I never shared this with anyone on IMVU before it's extremely painful but you all are so sweet and the pictures and frames are beautiful. Thank you IMVU and everyone for supporting this cause and for the pretty profile frame.

My grandmother is a tough women, and very brave, she helped my great grandma fight breast cancer, but it was nothing more they could do so they ended up removing my great grandmother left breast. It's a miracle she survived breast cancer, but now my grandmother is battling DCIS breast cancer, it's not very deadly it just start changing the breast rapidly.
