Finally. Its about time this came around. I'm also glad that those who had the Blue Try-It pass are not being left out. Hear hear.

NOW. I'm certain in 20 pages it has come up... I understand you don't want two people able to shop for poses, rooms the like. I agree with this. HOWEVER... since one can add two people to the shop... will we be ever be able to get the ability to add an actor that WILL be compatible with poses in shop? Even if its just in the peer review screen. There has to be SOME way to test out poses with another "person" (aside from "deriving from it") if someone wants to judge how close they are. The shop would be best, however in the PR screen is a step in the right direction.

A common misconception that you have.

IMVU has multiple teams. Each team has X amount of members on it. Und each team works on something different. Team A works a one to a few of the bugs, Team B works the features, Team C works on another one to a few of the bugs, Team D works on this, Team E works on that, so on und so forth.

Whichever team gets "done" (I use "done" loosely because nine times out of ten when they roll something new out, it's still bug infested. Then again, that's the purpose of the prereleases, so users can help find the bugs so they can hopefully be fixed by the next general release, same goes for features, users test these out in prereleases to see if suitable for next general release.) with something first, that is implemented. Sadly, we have more features being cranked out than fixes. But, it gets to a point that no matter how many people are on a specific team, or how many teams is assigned to a specific matter, the amount of people working on a certain problem isn't going to get it done any faster.

Also, the feature for shopping together isn't mandatory, after all, you're not -forced- to invite someone while you shop. Therefore it's pointless to complain about how you don't like it because you don't want people having what you have. If it was mandatory, then bitch. Since it's not, not so much.

There's no "top priority". To which bugs tend to come first, at least the more serious ones do. Und by serious, I mean constant crashing or inventories not loading up, such things like that. Those are imperative.

But, Just because Team F gets something done before Team A doesn't mean IMVU is putting more effort into getting Team F's stuff done first. It means that it's probably been in the works for quite some time, und they finished it after however long of working on it, which it gets rolled out before certain issues gets fixed. If a feature that's been in the making for a couple months gets pushed out before a bug that's only been an issue for a couple weeks (sometimes more or less), it doesn't make the feature a priority. It just means they got it done before getting the bug fixed.

Things are rolled out as they are "completed".

Yeah I do understand you. I don't have to -use- this feature. But a lot of people feel the same way. This feature is getting promoted while the more important things that should probably and I'm saying PROBABLY should be made are not being known to us as often. I know I'm not the -only- one "bitching" about this. It's just an insight on what I see it as. Each of these people working for IMVU has a job and I know it takes effort to include the community of minor or major changes, but at least it's helpful. I'm not saying they are not doing their job right but if you claim to want your community happy then at least help us out .and fill us in. In the end our word doesn't always necessarily matter

So many of the announcements and release notes have negative comments vs approval. It's all a matter of opinion and what each individual sees it as.

The exact details are not yet available but I can share the following:

1) VIP club members and those who had the blue try-it pass a few years ago will have access to the feature
2) The above users can invite anyone - VIP/Non-VIP, friend/non-friend to shop with them in the shop mode
3) While shopping together (2 people max), you will be able to try items, buy them, chat about them and gift them - all in the Shop
4) The feature will be limited to clothing and accessories items i.e. not be available for rooms/furniture/poses etc.

The shopping together experience will be limited to 2 people.

Stay tuned for more details!

Thanks

Sounds awesome Varsha, but what is the "blue try-it pass" and how do I know if I have it???

Blue Try-it pass was something available for purchase some years ago. Members had the option to buy it for the ability to try on clothing while in chat for a limited amount of time. It was a way to get opinions from friends on clothing, or to have fun while trying on goofy things. imvu decided to discontinue the pass ... I can't remember how long ago ... with a promise that it would be replaced, and were 'gifted' credits that were no where near what had been paid for the pass. Finally, they've replaced it, thought it's only the ability to shop with one friend and not share outfits with many. But I can live with that. Especially with how much more compromising the GA catalog is these days.

Thanks for clearing that for me ,so does that mean that those who never bought this "blue try-it pass" wont be able to use this upcoming feature? or is owning it not relevant?

If you didn't own it, you won't have access to this feature. The only way to have it now (without being a former blue-try-it-pass-owner) is with VIP purchase.

I'm happy they're bringing this back, I was really upset when they discontinued the try it pass. Can't wait to try it out.

I agree with you Dymorah. The purpose of prereleases is to fix whatever errors present until they can find a suitable version to make it as a major release. IMVU appreciates the users' cooperation in testing new features added in the IMVU client especially with this one. It will also give users opportunity to test it and experience the feature. And it is up to you if you're going to use the feature or not. But it will benefit the majority of users who wants to shop with their friends instead of giving them the link or the name of the product to try it on.

This feature applied in "poses" would be very useful, because sometimes we bought some "double pose" thinking it will be nice, but actually, it sucks.

I don't think the "shop together" should be used for poses simply because this could lead to people using the "free poses" as a means to not pay a dev for their hard work. I am all for the idea of adding an actor though. An avatar that you control that works with both poses.

I don't really see people using the shop for "free poses" I mean isn't that what the numerous pose rooms on IMVU are for? So you don't have to buy tons of poses just to take pictures? I personally would like to be able try out poses with someone, even if just an "actor" because often when I am looking for poses in the shop I cannot tell how well the avatars fit together in the pose, and sometimes after purchasing I find I don't like a pose as much as I thought.

I see alot of people are wondering about shopping together using poses.

My opinion is that people should NOT be able to do poses together using shopping together feature.

There are 50% of our customers using poses to make pictures and they wont buy the poses afterwards.

Some developers including me have show rooms where users can try out some of our poses chosen by us to determine quality of our products.

If the shopping together feature will be available for poses then you can expect alot of angry developers losing 50% of there profit.

As far as I know, "camera" tool cannot be use in shop (grayed out) and so with shop together feature. So there's no way they can take pictures except if they're going to make a screenshot which i believe poor in quality..

It is a poor quality, but for some people, that is enough. With VIP, you can set your own room to be your "shop" window and then put pose where you want, BAM. Then, there are those with the pose rooms. Not everyone knows about them nor wants to use them. I am all for adding an "actor" in a room. NOT so much for trying out poses together. Let's not mention all the possible AP action that could go on.

Actually, any screenshot I've done has been in good quality enough, though I've never done it in shop. Used to use it for creating product pages. I agree with Answer on this to a point. To be honest though, for me it would increase my chance of buying them. I'm tired of buying poses because the photos look great only to fine that once we try them out, we can't find the right heads to work for them. It's getting to the point where we don't want to buy them anymore. Just last night we got into a pose that he had bought, but ... it looked like our faces were devouring each other and no matter which heads we switched to none worked right. It's frustrating. There could be some really great pictures taken if we just could get the right heads to work with some of the poses. And it would be great if the creators would mention which heads they use in their photos, too.

I think maybe putting those poses in a room now and see if he and I can shop for heads with them. *shrug* Will be a helluva way to spend a chat.

I can't blame creators to get worried on this part. I will feel the same way. Loosing 50% of your revenue is alarming. Maybe that's why they didn't include the poses for this feature just yet and will going to have a work around with it in the future.
