Hi, it's always good to ask. We on the forums can't answer that question for you, but customer service can! Just contact them by clicking on Help->Get Support->Submit a Case. Give them a few days to check on those gifts and they will tell you if they are good or not.

I have not been hacked but I thought of an idea that me and my friends now implement to make sure its not a hacker using our accounts.... This will sound soooo corny... but use a safe word.... If anything is sent to click a link make sure its really them by a code you have previously set up beforehand.... Just an idea

IMVU's phone number is for billing issues only. Calling them for a hacked account won't help, because they will tell you to submit a case about it in the help center. The correct way to get your account back in control is already listed in the few first posts of this thread.

No one here can tell you that. It is a private matter between the account owner and staff.

If you are the owner of the account you can file a help ticket asking staff if there is a way to get the account back.

It's 3 am in the state of Iowa, and it was brought to my attention that I was seen in a room and I had sent this hacking link when I was not even ONLINE, and the link that sent was captured in a snapped photo and I have no clue what so ever who these people are, and I'm upset that I,myself might have been hacked.

The text that was sent in this person's room by 'me' (which was not since I was ASLEEP) WAS AN INAPPROPRIATE LINK

And when they clicked it tried to hack them all. Again, i was NOT online at this time and I certainly would NOT send links in a chat, and I NEVER EVER TYPE like that. (I use 'you' not 'u' I know how to speak and type proper English!)
I have changed my password just in case I was hacked, and I want to know if I WAS hacked in any way, and how I can prevent this from happening again.

I am frightened by this...
I have never ever in my life and in the 7 years I have been on IMVU been hacked and I certainly would not want to be accused of wanting to hack other's.
IMVU, I need your help.

We on the forums are users just like you and IMVU staff does not come here to handle specific account issues. Those need to be handled via the help center, not via the forums.

it is sad to me that people have to hack others accounts just because they have nothing better to do. or they want to sit on there butt instead of getting a job to get credits. they have to take them from someone else. Sad is there a way u guys can up the security here or somsething?

Yes, it's sad that people take time to scam others. We just have to be very careful if you ask me. Specially when it comes to clicking on links and visiting unkown websites as well as giving away private information.

I havent lost or been hacked but i think theres a new one going on.... and i keep reporting it and everyday it keeps happening... Anyone else??

Everyday i get several scam emails that offer free vip and creds if you follow instructions and I report them. They continue every single day multiple times a day. I wont click the links because it could be a possible hack. When ill these be taken care of?

Emails or Inbox messages?

Not really a hack, but a scam.

IMVU does take care of flag reports within 48 hours. They will not share what actions they will take against another account. That is something between the account owner and IMVU. There are indeed scammers messaging users offering you free credits and upgrades, but all they are after for is our accounts. Yes, they create new accounts and keep on sending these messages and IMVU is fully aware about it. You should have received an inbox message by IMVU inc. warning you for messages like these and they also posted about it here.

All we can do with this is report the message, delete it, block the user and ingore it. You can also set your messages to friends only to avoid receiving unwanted messages.

I have a friend here who has had his account 'disabled'... and says he never received any messages from imvu as to why this happened. Please, can someone tell me how or why accounts are 'disabled', and can they be retrieved/enabled after such an incident? I don't see any reason why his account has been disabled, and specifically with no reason conveyed to him either. This is so frustrating, especially since he has spent plenty on his account and setting up a chat room too, which of course, has also disappeared. I'm sad, but I understand why he is angry, with no communication whatsoever. He is at a loss to figure out why this happened. Sad

Hi, your friend should have received an email from IMVU to the email adress that is associated to his disabled account stating the reason for being disabled. IMVU does not disable users without a reason. There is always something and if your friend wishes to know more about it, then he can contact customer service about it directly. If he wishes to have his account back in his control, then he may discuss that question with customer service as well. Note that only he can contact IMVU about his account as he is the account owner.

He can contact IMVU by making a new account, visiting the help center and by creating a case using the get support section or he can make a temporary get support account by using this link. Note that it may take a few days for customer service to respond back on his case.

Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately, he has put in a support ticket under a new name, and no, the account hasnt been reinstated, and he definitely did not receive any email telling him why it was disabled in the first place. I hope he can get it resolved, especially since he has spent a significant amount of cash setting up a great chat room too.

I will ask him to continue dialogue with the support team and see if he can get it back. It is a shame that some have their accounts removed because of petty arguments or disgruntled users too. I sure hope this isn't the case here.
