I'm tired of having to put a dot or something after lol when I want to use that text.

I'm tired of having to mess up my words just to avoid the actions from triggering.

I'm also tired of loading other peoples default avi actions x.x especially when they do it by mistake x,x today.. I cleared about 60,000 kbs in garbage..

I miss using Razz ! I don't want to load my head shaking like some kind of dork >,>

Or the wave... what the heck.... I can't even say a regular hello without my avi doing something ugly x.x

And all these other actions.. like hand shaking and humping and so forth... They should be removed, or at least only given to experienced users.. because those actions are what make people hate new users so much and encourages the negative slang "noob" ... more trouble than they're worth x.x

I want an option to remove all of this stuff at least.

I also don't understand why imvu allows some of their actions pelvices touch like that.. I thought that was ufi?

To be honest, I don't see what the big deal is with the default avatar actions. They really don't seem to be a big deal. Your avatar waves or shakes its head . . . I don't get what the problem with those is supposed to be. I really don't. :\

And what particular action are you referring to that apparently makes it look like the avatars are humping? Because I've never seen anything like that from the default actions.

People are encouraging the slang "noob" because they don't know what it means, and they believe it's the same thing as "newbie" or "newb." It doesn't really have anything to do with IMVU's actions. There was a guy once who was a new user, didn't use any actions or anything; really cool guy, really really smart, talked with him for like, three hours. I was the only one who would in the first place, because regardless of how great of a person he was, people saw his join date and treated him like crap. I've seen less people use IMVU's default actions (since 99% of them aren't even available to new users anymore) and still get called "noob."

Pelvises can touch in many ways. If you're standing next to someone and you brush up against them, their hip can touch yours. Or if you sit down next to someone, you can be sitting shoulder-to-shoulder and it's likely that your hips are touching, too. And it can happen if you're hugging someone, or dancing. "Pelvises touching" is too vague, is what I'm trying to get at. When IMVU says that, they generally mean like, one person straddling the other and their pelvises are touching. And I don't know of any default actions like that, either.

I would love the option to shut off triggers like that. Don't dare tell someone to sleep well without adding something to the word 'sleep'. then you get people that keep typing 'z' while you're chatting, and that's annoying.

I know this has been suggested. And I'd really like to see them allow us the option to turn them off.

Hahaha i've seen so many people spam the room with Z's.. pretty pointless.

-

I am also for leting them be, a simple animation like shaking the head will not add 4Gb to your cache.. it's a very little thing, and somehow i like them.

If you don't want to say sleep well, then say have a good sleep, it's the same but won't trigger your actions.

It's kinda pointless and annoying the following ones:

Lotus: This does the MCG pose... WHY???

I have a friend here whose name starts with "Lotus", and we call her that way... the stupid MCG pose appears whenever you say her name. Remove this please. Lotus has nothing to do with MCG.

Yo: Okay. Yo might mean Hello in english but is slang and very unneeded...

If you don't know.. Yo in spanish means "Me".

Whenever you say Me in spanish, your avatar waves like an idiot. Seriously, stop thinking american.

Y: Same as Yo, but this time, Y means "and" in spanish..

and? and your avatar will nod like an idiot.

Also, some people uses Y as "why" and not as Yes.

Disable actions when making public rooms.. I like this idea ^_^

And when I pose a What question.. my avi loads an action.
When I say Good in a certain way, My avi loads an action.

It's fine if people like using them... but some people don't like them being used AT ALL. And I've been changing the way I write for years just to avoid using them, and I always miss or forget, and an action gets released through x.x I don't want them at all. I want an option to deactivate them at least.

And about what I said before, alot of new users tens to spam these linked avatar actions on people. It's one of the reasons why most people hate new users and refer to them as "noob" in an insulting manner, and even boot them on sight to avoid the risk of them spamming their partner actions.

I remember having a monthly plan with my old net company. High speed with a limit on the data we could have each month. We were a family of 5 all sharing the same source. It worked out very well for the first 2 years, until I started using imvu. All of a sudden we're going over out data limit, and had to pay a 50$ penalty fee every month... we couldn't understand what was taking up so much data... We use to be able to download all kinds of things with no issues.. I stopped using imvu, and what do you know, we weren't going over our data limit anymore... So we switched to another plan that allows us unlimited data, but slow internet speed x,x it... kinda sucks, but I manage. I just have to load movies before playing, and never have imvu running while other things are running too. And I have to be careful of opening my firefox when imvu client is running.. I usually avoid doing that cause it makes me crash, I like using th ePulse to access imvu's homepages and so forth. it's much easier xp I just can't try on things from there...

But anyways, I keep a close eye on what I load, so when I see a bunch of unnessesary loads, it erks me.

I understand that 3d chatting is a relatively new concept, and each system has their own bugs, it's why I've been putting up with the mess. I just find we ought to clean up little parts where we can. If we don't want some data, why force everyone to have it? LEt the ones who like using it keep it.

I don't mind keeping the action where your avi's head follows who ever it's talking to. Eventhough that bothers me sometimes, due to being tall and always having to look down, which covers my pretty face, I still think it's kind of ok.

The VIP hugs are lovely xp I think there's 3 Vip actions I actually like alot. The long hug which use to belong to everyone, but they took that away from us and made it vip. There's some sort of cradle hug where one person picks the other up, cradling them, that's really sweet. And the slow dance..

What if you made this a VIP feature? To be able to select which default avatar actions can be activated? Would be nice to look on your avi list when clicking, and not see a mile long list of things. I'm sure some don't mind.

I'm sure there are alot of people who like these features, but everywhere I go, we all try to avoid triggering these avi actions. The only actions we like to use are the ones we've bought, like dances. And we deffinetely.. absolutely avoid smiling.. it just distorts our faces D: I'm absolutely sure if imvu had the option to disable these default avi actions, then alot of people would.

I am honestly tired of the instant reactions my avatar takes as well. I would like to see the option to remove, disable, or even add new kinds of default actions or even rebind the keys for them.

I personally feel its breaking my character when I role play, and interfering with my experience. It almost becomes unprofessional, like the inter-avatar actions. Although it is a VIP feature to disable those. Why not be able to disable the default triggers as well and clear up some space for my purchased triggers? I am not asking for a revamp, I am just asking for some customization options to improve my time online IMVU.

I do wish we could disable them for our avis.
In the beginning they may have been funny. But they have overstayed their welcome for some of us.
My only worry is... would that disable all the actions on the avi? I like that my avi breathes and moves in her seat a little as I do that in real life. I would not want her to suddenly sit like a barbie doll.

The option to toggle on or off which actions you wanted disabled (including the VIP block action) would even be something I would pay VIP for. I am not saying this should be VIP only but it is something I would pay for.

The breathing action isn't part of imvu's default actions. That's what the creator of your avatar put in. All these Ahh and yay and hug and hump actions is what imvu has built into everyones avies, which is what I want disabled. Something a developper made, like breathing, wouldn't be effected.

Eventhough VIP's can block actions... it's still annoying when someone is constantly loading forced actions together, blocked or not. Blocking itself is stilll a loaded action x,x

Alot of new users get booted because they are abusing (testing) these features, and it's encouraging the regular public to hate them and boot them on sight.. which is lowering their experience here and isn't fun for anyone. Most new users leave the site because of this. I want people to stay x.x

There should at least be some kind of limit, like a lock of how many times a person can use an action with someone, like once every 20 min. This way new users cannot spam the same person with their shaking hands actions, and people don't have to hate them so much. This would force new users to have to actually chat and conversate with people, instead of abuse the 3d action features.

To be honest, I would prefer imvu removing these actions for new usuers, and only giving them as gifts once they've reached a certain amount of experience time on here.. like a certain amount of accomplished hours, (not days.. days terrible x.x too many people make an account, then leave for a few months.. even a year.. and come back.. these are not experienced users.. the account creation date is such a waste of information)

Agrees with the topic suggestion. I forgot to add that stupid period last night saying, 'Hiya' to my g/f....next thing I know I'm doing this ridiculous karate move on her. Embarassed

Seriously, those actions are so 2004. It's time to either do away with them, or at least get them updated to something newer....AND with the ability to disable them altogether.

Agreed.

I used those actions once. .. When I was less than a week old. .. Every since then, They've been nothing but a nuisance.

I do know that the breathing is not part of the default avi. It is the reason I bought a more expensive avi. I am old... but no so old that I have lost my mind and don't know what default means. I just worry that IMVU would see "Users don't want their avatars to move so lets take ALL of the movement away.
Honestly I wish all actions were a thing you had to purchase if you wanted it done to you. If you wanted to be hugged you buy hug. If you didn't want any attacks to be used on you you would not purchase any attacks. I do however understand why you want there to be a time limit as to when IMVU GIVES the actions as new users do tend to want to try them out, which is why I ONLY go to AP rooms. However I still stick with the "delete them all together" vote as I don't like them or the trigger words at all.

Personally, I'm against this. I like the actions. They make my chat experience fun and somewhat realistic. I would be really pissed off if they were removed just because of some users who get annoyed over little things that don't bother normal people. I and a bunch of my friends can attest to wanting to stay. I don't see what the big deal with them is or the problem. They're not 'nooby' actions. I believe they were supposed to bring some humor to the chat. Maybe you people should relearn humor. It'll be good for you!

I guess I can see your point...
Just personally.. I dislike them for alot of reasons, like the way they morph the face.. it usually always clips the meshes, like the mouth >,> I find that a flaw like that distracts me from the actual humour attempt, and all I see is bad meshing o,o These animations are old and outdated.. no one wears default heads anymore.. and when they do, they usually get picked on or shunned by the public (because imvu attracts stuck up people like that lol).

Maybe it would be wrong to force people to not use them just as much as it would be to force people to use them too... I'd at least like the option to remove them and have them not done onto me. Even if I get VIP, my avatar still has to perform a blocking action for when people try to harass me with their duo avi moves.. I don't want that.. I just want it off, like when they click on my avatar to select a duet move.. there would be nothing, or at least just a list that I've selected myself... that's the most I can stretch myself out for this negotiation here... EVEN if it was a VIP perk! I'd settle for that!

On a personal note.. I'd still want the ability to shut off these imvu provided default triggered actions & self expressions... I prefer the ones I purchased. I find it annoying that whenever I click on my avi to select mine, I have to get bombarded by all these garbage triggers that are built into the default avi... I don't even use them x.x they're just garbage to a person like me o,o they don't fit my avi, and I don't appreciate the load when I use them by accident.. Usually I just scroll up and click to hide them all. but it's annoying because I always have to redo that x,x

But I would seriously like to do something about these trigger actions and duo moves... they just get new users in trouble when they experiment with them on other people by spamming them like crazy.. and makes people either run away from them, or boot them.. or worse, stick around and mock them and bully them harshly... all scenarios leaving the new user alone, scorned, and not enjoying this site, which is why MOST new users LEAVE shortly after joining... I don't think this is the best way to greet new members at all. I want the population of this place to grow, and this is something small that we can fix. Do something about it, at least x.x
