No anyone that buys the package can share the room and make it public again to do this follow the steps on page one of this thread.

I have a friend who doesnt use the forums and purchased a shared room, sent a request to someone, and they did accept but stopped sharing as soon as the stop sharing button was available. My friend at the time wasnt upset till they found out they no longer have their package. This person has contacted imvu and they refuse to refund his money. They are totally shocked they are unable to share a room, they purchased the package a couple hours ago. What type of protection does imvu have against people who can stop sharing at any time.

Also the purchase screen needs more detail explaining that once you stop sharing a room it CANNOT be used again. its not clear enough for people.

I also think that when someone hits stop sharing it should require the other person to agree to stop sharing so funds cant be wasted. If the initial room sharing is stopped sharing within 24 hours I think it should allow the person to be able to choose another person.

These are just some ideas

Totally agree. As I mentioned earlier, the shared room is "one time use" room... and i lost it because i accidentally unfriended the people i shared room with, they should have not let this happen in the first place. It's like having a button there in the profile card that says "disable my account" and you accidentally clicked it and boom all your account and stuff is gone. And if you file a support tickket they will keep telling you you have to buy another account... etc.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford this room sharing package or the marriage package. I wish we didn't had to pay for the room sharing package.

Imvu have to rip people off with their cash somehow , and what better way to do it by makng out the shared room is worth the $14.99 ,because if you decde to no longer share the room you have to buy another one to share with someone else , it is much cheaper to just have a friend as a mod in your room and let them make decisions, the only thing they cant do is add furniture , but if a friend really wanted to add a piece of furniture then they can gift it you and you can add it for them.

I have wanted to do something like this with my best friend for nearly 3 years. If you think its a waste of money, dont buy it. No one is forcing you too. I think its a great idea

Can be done without having to pay for it ,I did it for yrs with a friend , the only thing we couldn't do was add furniture , but we gifted the furniture what we wanted in each others public room , and made sure that there was only him and I running the room , we didn't have anymore mods we ran the room together , works out much cheaper than having to pay $14.99 each time you want to share a room with someone .But if people want to pay $14.99 just for the ability for 1 person to add things to the room then that is their choice , I am just stating in my opinion its a waste of real cash when it can be done in a way for free Smile

Sure one can choose to do as you and your friend is doing, but its not the same by far than when you can actually furnish and decorate a room together from your own collection without having one person do all the work and-- the room don't have to be made public if both parties don't want it to be. Just not the same affect. Shared room package is well worth its money as the marriage package is. The shared room is also good for couples who want to test the waters before actually getting married, in any case its not quite the same as having a public room adding a friend as mod and gifting the owner the furniture and the owner of the room doing all the work, just not the same.

If I am sharing a room with someone, and they add a furniture item, can I then move that item or do they have to place it themselves?

You should both be able to move the furniture and decorate the room.

Surely the information about shared rooms should have been available when you purchase the shared room??? I bought one and a couple of days later stopped sharing it thinking I could use it with someone else or just have it sitting there to use when I want, when I paid $14.99 for it, I was not aware that when you stop sharing the room, you lose it altogether. There was NO disclaimer or information on the site telling me this when I purchased it, I have only just been told about this forum by your support staff.

A little unfair donÂ’t you think IMVU??? If I had known that I was "RENTING" the room rather than "PURCHASE" it as you state, I would have NEVER gone ahead with it. Evil or Very Mad

I seen the badge on some cards and came to the forums and put in Shared Room. The first option on IMVU's search engine showed me this thread. I then proceeded to read the entire first post twice just to make sure I missed nothing. Then I took the time to read the entire thread not too many pages for I seen the badge the next day after this new package was made. I then bought it knowing after reading in this thread the many questions asked and what could happen if so. Same when the marriage package came out. It is bad enough IMVU has so many glitches and issues, I had a few with this shared room but I was able to figure it out and what I could not I put in a help ticket. IMVU should have a disclaimer on all packages bought that if you are not aware they are not at fault. But alas I also did not see any disclaimers only here on the first page and after reading the many answered questions was I able to figure out the dealings of this package. So again buyer beware should be the first disclaimer especially here in IMUV where there are so many bugs and glitches and issues.

I am sorry this happened to you and many others and hopefully the wording on the packages that are here now - The Marriage Package and the Shared Room Package will be added and more information given.

All information should have been readily available on the landing page where you purchase a product, all respectable responsible companies would have made sure that was set in place before going live onto any billing system where real money transactions are involved. Its common sense and good practice. Nobody should have to go searching through some forum for details. Mad

I do not believe, (i.e., I know within a 99.99% certainty) that IMVU doesn't have anyone versed in the law or a paid advertising consultant on staff that reviews these things when they are put out. Based upon my experience with the promo bundles department, no one over there ever proofs anything before its put out, or if they do, they're not educated properly. My last bundle had the wrong product description and once again there were no triggers listed on the page for products, among other problems (there were five major problems, as I recall, with the ad).

Shared Rooms could be further advanced by allowing customers to purchase for 14.99 an option to add another user to their existing shared room, opposed to purchasing a brand new, shared room (to share with another buddy).

So, rather than having 20 separate shared rooms, users should have the option to add 20 new friends to join any one particular shared room they may already have for a price of 14.99. If they remove a friend from their shared room, then both the friend and the contents of that friend's inventory are removed from their shared room.

I think this might be better for families and role-playing groups. Smile
