I've created stereoscopic 3D photos of IMVU, to be viewed using the "cross-eyed" method. Most of you probably aren't familiar with this type of no-glasses 3D viewing, so here is a short explanation of how to do it:

Look with crossed eyes, until your see three images next to each other (make sure you keep your head up straight and your nose is centered between the two images). If you let your eyes focus on the centre image, you should start to see it in 3D. It may take some practice in the beginning. The longer you look, the better the effect becomes.

Below are two samples.
Let me know what you think! :D

Wow that is clever ... the second one made my eyes water after a while, but the 3D came really quick and was clear and well done.

Nice work ! Very Happy

Thanks for the feedback!

If it's straining on the eyes, you might find it to be more comfortable if you view it from a little bit further. ;)

I had to remove the images as they are oversized for the forum . As stated above the images have to be 500x500 . You may link them using word Or resize them and edit your original thread to add the pictures again .
*Mod hat off*
I actually like this thread , i have never been able to cross my eyes and look at the 3d image . I hope more people contribute to this thread as it is quite interesting.

It's indeed not easy at all when you first try this, but anyone who is able to cross their eyes is in theory able to see this effect. The difficulty isn't necesserily in crossing your eyes in the correct way, but to focus your eyes once they are crossed. This is because in normal situations, we cross our eyes to look at something very near to our eyes (if you bring your finger close to your nose and you focus on it, your will automatically cross your eyes while focussing), so the brain is challenged to do something it isn't used to: focussing on something further away, with crossed eyes.

Interesting.
Unfortunately I have never been able to see this kind of 3d image. Can't keep the central overlapped image steady enough for it to turn 3d.

You won't be the only one since actually roughly only one in ten are actually able to do so.

That sounds like the same problem I had in the beginning, though this image might help to practise it: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/zBa-bCxsZDk/hqdefault.jpg

It has two big dots at the bottom which are a better reference to see if the two images overlap correctly while crossing eyes.

Thanks but nope, still can't hold them steady enough for the images to be anything but motion blurred.

I can't even get my eyes to cross - haven't tried in many years - never could get them to cross for more than maybe being able to count to 1 (lol).

Holding them steady is the problem ... instead you need to relax your eyes and let the picture come to you ... once it does then you can focus on the details in the picture, it's well worth it! Very Happy
