Yes it's legal to have support stickers.

A support sticker is a way to let someone donate credits to you, by them purchasing your sticker. This can be useful for example when you have crossed your monthly limit of giving credits. Bare in mind though, that if the price of your support sticker is, say, 2500 Credits, you will not get the full 2500.

And to add onto that, you won't received the credits until they've past through your pended credits schedule. So if someone is purchasing your sticker for you to be able to submit a product, you won't be able to access the credits for what I think is two weeks (I may be wrong).

Correct, you still have to wait the 14 day pend time, even for stickers. And yes, they are completely legal

It is totally allowed to make support stickers but from my own personal experience, they don't do well because IMVU takes a good chunk out of the fees. You're better off just creating several decent-priced stickers as long as they weren't taken from something copyrighted.

Those still exist >.>

Yes they are legal and most creators use them for one of two reasons.
I don't anymore, but I'll explain why in a bit.

One reason - donations
Some creators accept donations for their group, contests, badge, etc.

Mind you there is a 5k credit transfer a day limit for anyone who isn't a
creator. We all have a daily credit transfer limit but creators limits are
based off tier. The higher your tier the more credits you can send a day.

===================================

Second reason - payment for custom requests
Some creators accept stickers for custom products, graphics, etc.

If someone has reached their daily send limit they can't send you more
credits till next day and if it's someone who isn't a creator and say they
owe 20k they would have to send you 5k a day max for 4 days. Where
as a creator would just need to wait next day.

This method is slow and annoying. So to bypass it making a sticker with
the profit margin set to what you are owed is one way around it, but
then you still have to wait 14 days for it to finish pending and also there
is the IMVU tax/ 10% markup per catalog item.

===================================

The reason I no longer accept support stickers....
-takes to long/14 day pend
-the client pays more cuz IMVU tax
-ain't gotta

A lot of people are still unaware that to bypass this all you need to do
is submit a Help Ticket. Which is way quicker and less of a headache.

This is when you ask an IMVU Staff Member to transfer the exact amount
credits to another avatar for you due to your transfer limit.

From my own personal experience...
I receive credit transfer in less than 24 hours

From one of my own custom groups here are the links
I use to show how to get the credit transfer done.

(IMVU Staff will transfer the credits for you)

I think they're a good idea, especially if the sticker is a unique image.
If you mark up the image 5000 credits, you will get the 5000 credits.
Good for donation and paying votes, you still have to wait 14 days to receive them.

IMVU has to pay for their servers somehow. They have to host the image you uploaded... Which costs them monthly

IMVU have an unlimited supply of credits, they don't use these credits for their own catalogs, or payment for anything at all. If what I've learnt is correct, they deduct these credits to help balance the IMVU economy.

More and more credits are being produced out of thin air to sell to imvu customers. Therefore, the value of the credit diminishes. So they need a way to get rid of credits. So, basically, IMVU's fee which they take off your product sales, and when you derive an item, are basically being chucked in the bin.

Before you think this is a bad thing though; it's actually good. If this didn't happen, there would be too many credits in the catalog, and content creators will have to increase their product prices to actually see any real-money profit.

Anyway, back OT:

Help tickets are way quicker. However, I still sometimes use support stickers if users don't know how to file a help ticket. I find it easier to see the sale of support stickers in my credit pend schedule, rather than seeing the modified account balance of when IMVU manually put credits in my account from a Help Ticket.

Although, if someone buys a support sticker from you, using fraudulently acquired credits, the credits will be removed from your pended credit schedule. (from what I know, this will also happen when credits have been transferred using a help ticket. This is something to keep in mind when you're using support stickers for payments of commissioned work).

Yea i was quite sure they were legal because

1. people see its a sticker

2. people also see the price

3. its up to them to decide if they will purchase a sticker for 1k-100k
