|
|
First, let me say that I have NO ISSUE with giving promo credits to new users to get them started however, I think the gifting of promo credits as rewards for uploading your photos and to contest winners has gone too far. If IMVU wants to run a contest or promote a new feature they should not be doing it on our backs.
I lost 200,00 credits to promos last month which would have been some nice cash in my pocket. I'm tired of giving so much away. And please don't try to tell me I wouldn't have made those sales anyway--when the image servers were down awhile back and there were no submissions and therefore no PR my sales with promo credits were drastically reduced. _________________

Woah what? They give PREDITS to their contest winners? I thought it was real credits. Are you actually kidding me? o-o _________________

I don't get this part. Do you mean you made 200,000 in promos last month and you wish that was credits instead? _________________

Since IMVU takes real credits off of users before predits are taken users can say quite happy you would not of had those sales. The people making the purchases didn't have real credits and you can make a claim that they would of gone and bought real ones. As for the statement of your predit sales went down when the servers screwed up over images my sales in predits for that period shot right up. _________________

No, the contests they run are generally paid out in real credits not predits, At least the big contests anyways. Some smaller things such as answering surveys and such are usually predit payouts.
Magpie, you are precisely on point with your post. I truly don't understand once again flooding this disaster of an economy with predits. Further devaluing the credit itself. What on earth is the rationale behind this new predit based photo streaming sham ? Ok so people might buy items seen in the pics, but if those sales are done with predits....what the hell is the benefit here ? _________________

I think Kitty is right--I was misled in a group about the payout for the Spring fashion photo contest being in promos. I went to the FB page and it is unclear.
The photo stream payout IS in promos though. From this locked thread:
http://www.imvu.com/catalog/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpbb2&file=viewtopic.php&t=435946
Varshe wrote: "Earn credits as you enjoy the Photo Stream! You will earn 250 promotional credits for the first photo you share to the stream and 250 more when you receive your first “like” for that photo. This is just our way of saying thank you!
VIP exclusive:
If you share a photo and someone purchases one or more products showcased in that photo, then you earn 5% of the total purchase price for that order. The opportunity to earn these promotional credits is endless!"
This is absurd. _________________

Wait wait wait... So with PhotoStream... If you're VIP you have an amazing opportunity to earn predits and pump more dev tokens into the system? Nice. It's okay if you have tonnes. On my alt I have like 400 dev tokens. Here? 1. What good is 1 token really? 10c isn't a lot when most things cost around 600c. _________________

I made 200,00 in promos last month, yes. Of course I wish that was real credits but I'm not delusional. I just think the percentage of my income to DTs has become out of balance and from the sound of it is about to get worse. _________________

or when you have someone buy an entire bundle with promos (a bundle that cost OVER 20k) & get a DT for it, (& YES - I had a customer buy a 20,000+ credit bundle paid for ENTIRELY with promos & I was told how proud she was to do it - "took her a year to save up") ain't it wonderful... =^.^= _________________

i have 13% predits (last month anyway ... although it seems fairly normal) ... i don't think that is too bad.
would be nice if i could get it below 10 ... but oh well. _________________

& IMVU fools themselves into thinking these people will every spend real money here - took her "a year to save up" & proudly told me so IN a review as well as a hp msg! =^.^= _________________

Or, the glass-half-full type could look at that like she wanted your bundle SO badly she bought nothing and saved up an ENTIRE YEAR just so she could afford what she wanted most out of the entire catalog- YOUR BUNDLE. That's flattering, no?
Promos get the kiddies out in the catalog, shopping. Shopping tends to be contagious. I know it can be frustrating - I have a shocking TWENTY FIVE percent promo ratio - but shopping can be addictive and eventually those promos DO run out. _________________
