Friend of mine received a two week suspension of her account for deriving from another person .

This was a catalog product, visible in the catalog, rated AP. Did not appear to violate TOS or VGP.

Anyways seems the original got flagged as UFI and the flagger went on a rampage flagging all derived versions, fine understandable.

Why would CS suspend someone, who has over a 3 year active VIP user for two weeks for deriving from a re-rated product and has 500 plus catty items for first offense. WOW harsh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems CS is out of control, and overly harsh with some and not at all with others. Are people working in CS active players with friends on IMVU? Is that a conflict of interest if they are?

I have flagged one user twice now for having the F Bomb in her tagline CS does nothing.

Suspend a dev for deriving a passed item that is later re-rated UFI. Even then the re-ratings are questionable at times.

Seems unrealistic and harsh to me.

Can't contact my friend directly for 2 weeks to get the exact details if any.

Maybe CS could take 2 minutes, search the catty for the F Bomb, filter to GA products and then go re-rate the hundreds as AP as per the TOS & VGP, profanity is AP if you didn't know. So if they don't want profanity available to minors on here take 30 seconds and search

I would post the search that pulls up 515 GA products but the link would be considered GA and a mod would be deleted it anyway so why freaking bother.

Be proactive rather than rely on us and the griefers to do their work for them, then not even check to see if the rating is valid.

Since it says that inappropriate flagging can result in action being taken against you, I always worry when I flag items and they are still there a week later. I wonder, did I get it wrong, is CS going to disable me for grief flagging? would be nice to get something back from IMVU stating my flag was valid it not.

I myself am tired of having to contact Community Relations to get action taken on super blatant violations because some of the CS staff don't seem to know what they are supposed to do or maybe don't understand the TOS, & VGP. don't think it is her job but seems it is the only way at times to get something done. Yes I know CS doesn't work weekends.

My rant of the day.

I bet the dev she derived from is still active and she is not, seems to be the way on here. CS takes forever and doesn't seem to understand that SMOKING IS AP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That includes banners of the dev smoking on the product page!!!!!!!!!!! TRAIN THE CS STAFF PROPERLY.

I flagged one dev for 50 products they did nothing, left them as is, GUNS AND SMOKING all appropriate for minors it seems.

Flagged one dev for 10 products with jibberish that included some of the harshest most disgusting sexual descriptions I have seen on the product page, took a help ticket to get CS to act, what did they do, blank out the product pages, dev was fine though

HELLO, those products should have been rated UFI!!!!!!!!!!!! TOS & VGP are very very clear on that, read it! and given it was 10 products the dev's account should have been disabled, no it wasn't. There were still other products that dev had that in that catty I did not report figured 10 was enough fr CS to take appropriate action. So he was left active.

Yes I apologize I used the word smoking in a GA forum, hope I don't get banned from the forums for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if I was.

There's normally a lot more to these stories, and why any communication should only be between the effected person and CS.

I have been banned from these forums for posting links to the IMVU music store. I have had a 2 week ban for a sticker. A terrorist hunting permit. Tell your friend I said "Welcome to IMVU". Wink

I don't see how people consistently get away with mentioning that they were banned.

Hi, staff created a thread to go over the basics of product re-rates: Here

IMVU feels that there are clear violations and then grey areas. Violations that they feel are clear cut they tend to give no warnings while grey areas they tend to allow some leeway.

IMVU allows devs to file a ratings dispute ticket which allows the developer to defend their position. IMVU reviews the case and then makes a final decision.

The forums are filled with IMVU users who can't speak for IMVU. IMVU can't discuss personal account issues in a public forum. IMVU has asked that all re-rate/user punishment threads be locked and directed to a help ticket as per the forum rules. IMVU can explain why such action was taken.

I hope your friend is able to work this out. Thanks
