Banners and Links

How to Make a Clickable Banner:
For your siggy:
Code:
[url=link URL here][IMG]image URL here[/IMG][/url]

For your HP:
Code:
<a href="link URL here"><img src="image URL here"></a>

Note:
The code for your siggy must be put on your Profile page, not your Account page. Scroll down to the bottom of this page, click on Profile.

Have Clickable Banners Open in Own Window:
If you want a link in your homepage to open in a new window or a new tab, you need to add target="_blank" to your link:

Code:
<a href="link URL here" target="_blank"><img src="image URL here"></a>

Clickable Text, No Pic, For HPs:
If you just want to add a link that is words, no picture, you would use this one:

Code:
<a href="WhereYouWantToGoToHere">WhatYouWantTheLinkToSayHere</a>

Just click on >Edit >Edit Custom HTML/CSS in whichever panel you want it to be in.

If you want it centered it would look like this:

Code:
<center><a href="WhereYouWantToGoToHere">WhatYouWantTheLinkToSayHere</a></center>

Clickable Text, No Pic, For Siggies:
Must be entered on your Profile page-link is at the bottom of this page.

Code:
[url=WhereYouWantToGoHere]WhatYouWantLinkToSayHere[/url]

Post Your Banner Code so Others Can Take It:
Code:
<a href="link URL here" target="_blank"><img src="image URL here" border="0"></a>
<br>
<input type="text" value="<a href="link URL here" target="_blank"><img src="image URL here" border="0"></a>"readonly onClick="javascript:this.focus();this.select();" STYLE="width: 300px;">

Text and Fonts:

To Change Text Color in Your Special Someone Panel:
Ignore the part they want you to type out whatever you want to say about your Special Someone. Add their name in the correct spot, then add this code below in >Edit >Edit/HTML:

Code:
<font color="X">Your text here</font>

You replace the X with a color name or the hexidecimal color value.

To do it with the color name:

Code:
<font color="red">I love my Special Someone!</font>

Would give you:

I love my Special Someone!

To do it with the hexidecimal color value:

Code:
<font color="#FF0000">I love my Special Someone!</font>

Would give you the same results as above:

I love my Special Someone!

Visit this site:
Hexadecimal Codes

Change Text in Headers:
Ice wrote:
You might have seen people having the ability to change the text in their Headers.

For example, the plain old "About Me" was changed into "About Ice"

Just paste the code below under EDIT HTML/CSS on any panel.

Code:
<script type="text/javascript">document.getElementById
('special_panel_header').getElementsByTagName('span')[0].innerHTML='INSERT WHATEVER YOU WANT TO SAY HERE';</script>

This code is for the Special Someone panel. For other panels replace where is says 'special_panel_header' with which ever of the following you wish:

aboutme_panel_header
contact_panel_header
dev_panel_header
wishlist_panel_header
url_panel_header
tagcloud_panel_header
collect_panel_header
visitors_panel_header
messages_panel_header
room_panel_header
rankings_panel_header
cool_panel_header
gallery_panel_header
friends_panel_header
rss_panel_header
video_panel_header
special_panel_header
outfits_panel_header
groups_panel_header
badges_panel_header
slideshow_panel_header
sandbox_panel_header

Centering Text in All Panels:
Paste the code below in any visible panel set to be viewed by "Everyone:

Code:
<style>
td{text-align:center}
</style>

To Change Font of All Text on HP:
Stick this in any visible panel set to be viewed by "Everyone":

Code:
<style type="text/css">
* {
font-family: verdana;
}
</style>

You can change the word verdana to whichever font you desire.

Also,
SpirInk wrote:
Make sure you put multi-word font names in quotes. Those include fonts with names like Times New Roman and Trebuchet MS

"Times New Roman", "Lucida Console", "Trebuchet MS", etc.

Change Font Size:

<style type="text/css">
#imvuParentTable {
margin-top:300px !important;
}
</style>

Adjust the 300 until you have the space you desire.

Image at Top of Page:
Code:
<style type="text/css">
#top_links, .imvucodes_net {
text-align:right !important;
background:url('LINK OF THE PICTURE') no-repeat transparent !important;
width:900px !important;
height:200px !important;
display:block !important;
z-index:0;
}
</style>

Or

Code:
<style type="text/css">
  /* Code by Antonio82 - Found at imvmoo.netne.net */
#imvuTopNav {
background-image:url('BANNER IMAGE LINK HERE') !important;
background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
background-position: 50% 20% !important;
height:150px !important;  /*---- Change the 150 to the height of the banner ----*/
margin-bottom:30px !important;
}
</style>

Transparent Panels (varying degrees):
Code:
<style>
#aboutme_panel, #messages_panel, #music_panel, #blog_panel, #rss_panel, #url_panel, #contact_panel, #video_panel, #special_panel, #updates_panel, #groups_panel, #tagcloud_panel, #streetteam_panel, #outfits_panel, #room_panel, #stickers_panel, #collect_panel, #friends_panel, #visitors_panel, #cool_panel, #rankings_panel, #gallery_panel, #wishlist_panel, #dev_panel, #avilicious_chachafance_panel
{
-ms-filter:"progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=50)";
filter: alpha(opacity=50);
opacity: .50;
-moz-opacity: .50;
}

#aboutme_panel_header, #messages_panel_header, #music_panel_header, #blog_panel_header, #rss_panel_header, #url_panel_header, #contact_panel_header, #video_panel_header, #special_panel_header, #updates_panel_header, #groups_panel_header, #tagcloud_panel_header, #streetteam_panel_header, #outfits_panel_header, #room_panel_header, #stickers_panel_header, #collect_panel_header, #friends_panel_header, #visitors_panel_header, #cool_panel_header, #rankings_panel_header, #gallery_panel_header, #wishlist_panel_header, #dev_panel_header, #avilicious_chachafance_header
{
-ms-filter:"progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=50)";
filter: alpha(opacity=50);
opacity: .50;
-moz-opacity: .50;
}
</style>

Changing the 50 will change the transparency of the panels.

Skinny Panels:
Rei wrote:
Ok for the skinny panel-ness use this

Code:
<style type="text/css">
#PANELNAMEHERE_panel { left:30%;width:300px !important; }

#PANELNAMEHERE_panel { left:-30%;width:300px !important; }
</style>

The first one is left side, the second on is right side.You'll want to repeat those bits of code for each panel you want on the left and right sides. So a finished code would look somewhat like this:

Code:
<style type="text/css">
#aboutme_panel { left:30%;width:300px !important; }
#URL_panel { left:30%;width:300px !important; }
#video_panel { left:30%;width:300px !important; }
#music_panel { left:30%;width:300px !important; }
#blog_panel { left:30%;width:300px !important; }

#messages_panel { left:-30%;width:300px !important; }
#visitors_panel { left:-30%;width:300px !important; }
#friends_panel { left:-30%;width:300px !important; }
#wishlist_panel { left:-30%;width:300px !important; }
</style>

In that code the aboutme, url, video, music and blog panel are on the left And the messages, visitors, buddies, and wishlist are on the right.
So your going to have to do exactly that for each panel you want on the left and right side. Get it?

Groups Panel Prank:
Code:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
var vName='';
var olStatus=0;
if(document.getElementById("mininav-avname")) {
allTags=document.getElementById('mininav-avname').innerHTML;
if(allTags.indexOf("Guest") == 0) {
vName = allTags.substring(6, (allTags.length));
}
else vName=allTags;
}

if(vName!='') { olStatus=1; }

if(olStatus==1) {
document.write('<div id="dunggroup" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin-bottom: 10px; padding-bottom: 5px;">
<a href="FAKE GROUP LINK">
<img style="margin: 7px; float: left; width: 100px;" src="http://www.imvu.com/catalog/web_av_pic.php?av='+vName+'" width="100px" height="80px"></a>');
document.write('<div style="padding: 7px; font-size: 9pt;">
<b>
<a href="FAKE GROUP LINK">');
document.write('FAKE GROUP NAME OF '+vName);
document.write('</a></b><br><br>*** posts from XX members<br></div><div style="clear: both;"></div></div>');
};
</script>

Change the 'Loading' Message:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
document.getElementById("LoadingPage").innerHTML = 'YOUR TEXT HERE<br /><img alt="processing" src="/catalog/web_images/processing2.gif" />';
</script>

Basic HTML

To underline stuff:
Code:
<U>All I ask is to prove that money can't make me happy.</U>

The result of this would be:
All I ask is to prove that money can't make me happy.

To add italics:
Code:
<i>Boycott shampoo. Demand real poo.</i>

Would look like this:
Boycott shampoo. Demand real poo.

To go bold:
Code:
<b>A Shower is the halfway point between Bed and World.</b>

Would look like this:
A Shower is the halfway point between Bed and World.

To make bold italic text that is also underlined:
Code:
<b><i><u>I went to the Net and all I got was this stupid tagline.</u></i></b>

Would give you:
I went to the Net and all I got was this stupid tagline.

NOTE: It's important to put the tags at the end in the opposite order you put them at the beginning. You should not put:

Code:
<b><i>Your text here.</b></i>

But:

Code:
<b><i>Your text here.</i></b>

To change font size:
Code:
<font size="x">Your text here</font>

"x" will be replaced by a number with a + or - sign in front of it. So let's say you wanted to make the font larger. You can use the tag with a +2, like this:
Code:
<font size="+2">A)bort R)etry I)nfluence with large hammer?</font>

This will give you something similar to the following:
A)bort R)etry I)nfluence with large hammer?

Extra Large Text:

Code:
<font style="font-size: 200pt">Your Text Here</font>

Will give you something bigger than the forums will allow. Wink

To change font color:
Code:
<font color="X">Your text here</font>

You replace the X with a color name or the hexidecimal color value.
To do it with the color name:
Code:
<font color="red">Being psychotic is all it's cracked up to be.</font>

Would give you:
Being psychotic is all it's cracked up to be.

To do it with the hexidecimal color value:
Code:
<font color="#FF0000">Being psychotic is all it's cracked up to be.</font>

Would give you the same results as above:
Being psychotic is all it's cracked up to be.

Visit this site:
Hexadecimal Codes

To change both the size and the color:
Code:
<font color=orange><font size="+4">Every pool you can swim in has been peed in at least once.</font></font>

Every pool you can swim in has been peed in at least once.

To center your words, use this:
Code:
<center>Your text here</center>

This will put it in the middle of the panel.

To add empty lines, space for stickers, etc. do this:
Code:
<br>
<br>
<br>

The more <br> tags you add, the bigger the space. You will probably have to add at least 2 tags before you will even see a difference. You do *not* need to end these tags. Do not put this:
</br>

It is not needed.

To add breaks at the end of a sentence, use the same <br> tags:
Love:<br>
The warm feeling you get<br>
towards someone who meets<br>
your neurotic needs.

Would give you:
Love:
The warm feeling you get
towards someone who meets
your neurotic needs.

Font Styles
Code:
<font face="font name">Your text here.</font>

Comment Tags
Comment tags are used to write notes to yourself that you don't want anyone else to see, or they can be used to hide entire sections of code.

For example, let's say you had found a code at a particular site, and wanted to go back to look for more stuff. You would do this:

Code:
<!--Found this code at GlitterIzUs!-->

You see you have the

<!--

in combination with the

-->

at the end.

For this to work properly, add only 2 dash marks each at the front and end, and do not forget the exclamation point. Anything between the two brackets will be invisible until you look at the HTML coding.

If you want to hide entire code, simply hide it between the brackets in the same way you would text.

Unordered List:
They use either <ul> </ul> or <ol></ol>.

Code:
<b>Everything I've ever learned, I learned from Star Wars</b>
<br>
<ul>
<li>Never trust men in dark helmets.</li>
<li>It really isn't necessary to be fluent in over 6 million forms of communication.</li>
<li>If you are a young hero, nothing can kill you.</li>
<li>Always check the background of people you want to get intimately involved with, they may be your relatives.</li>
<li>Before you kill someone make sure they aren't your father.</li>
<li>Know the difference between a power socket and a computer terminal.</li>
<li>THIS one goes there, and THAT one goes there!</li>
<li>No disintegrations.</li>
<li>Fire on a rebel base *before* they blow up your space station.</li>
<li>Don't assume a senior citizen is weak and frail; they may zap you with lightning bolts.</li>
<li>The Bad Guys can't hit the broad side of a barn.</li>
</ul>

Will look like this. Notice the Bullet Before each List Item:

Everything I've ever learned, I learned from Star Wars
* Never trust men in dark helmets.
*It really isn't necessary to be fluent in over 6 million forms of communication.
*If you are a young hero, nothing can kill you.
*Always check the background of people you want to get intimately involved with, they may be your relatives.
*Before you kill someone make sure they aren't your father.
*Know the difference between a power socket and a computer terminal.
*THIS one goes there, and THAT one goes there!
*No disintegrations.
*Fire on a rebel base *before* they blow up your space station.
*Don't assume a senior citizen is weak and frail; they may zap you with lightning bolts.
*The Bad Guys can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Ordered List:
They use either <ul> </ul> or <ol></ol>.

Notice! Only one letter difference in the coding from above:

Code:
<b>Signs You're an Internet Addict:</b>
<br>
<ol>
<li> Your dog has its own home page.</li>
<li>You can't call your grandmother...she doesn't have a modem.</li>
<li>You refer to going to the bathroom as downloading.</li>
<li>You don't know the gender of three of your best friend.</li>
<li>Your last date was with pixels.</li>
<li>You kiss your girlfriend's/boyfriend's home page. </li>
<li>You find yourself brainstorming for new subjects to search. </li>
<li>You check your email first thing in the morning, before you go to the bathroom.</li>
<li>you're fascinated by the fact that books neither plug in nor need batteries.</li>
<li> You tell the cab driver you live at http://69.luck.street/house/bluetrim.html</li>
</ol>

These will look like this:

Signs You're an Internet Addict:
1. Your dog has its own home page.
2. You can't call your grandmother...she doesn't have a modem.
3. You refer to going to the bathroom as downloading.
4. You don't know the gender of your best friend.
5. Your last date was with pixels.
6. You kiss your girlfriend's/boyfriend's home page.
7. You find yourself brainstorming for new subjects to search.
8. You check your email first thing in the morning, before you go to the bathroom.
9. You're fascinated by the fact that books neither plug in nor need batteries.
