Hey everyone I'm sorry I'm a new to the forums, and not sure how it works or where i belong. Lol. But i have a quick question. I wanted to see how the flagging system worked on imvu when if came to messages. I click a friend to see how it would work to see what would happen. I clicked her message and clicked ''safety'' and then ''flag'' it did it. It didn't even ask are you sure. It just auto sent a report of the message. The message read ''hi hoe'', my friend and I call each other that all the time lol. Call us immature but anyway I don't want her to get disabled. Do any of you think I should be too worried?? If people even accidentally flag a message saying ''hi'' will the person getting flagged or the person who accidentally flagged it get disabled? Just a bit worried. And want to go to bed with a clear head.. Thanks all. PS: does it matter how many times a person gets flagged, or just how bad the report is?? :s Embarassed

When you flag something, it is reviewed by Customer Support. If the TOS has not been broken, nothing happens. If the TOS has been broken, then generally speaking, the offending user normally gets a warning.

In order for someone to be temp banned from the site or permanently disabled, it would have had to be a major breach of the Terms of Service -- or they would have to have a history of such infractions.

For you to get a warning, let alone be temporarily or permanently disabled over flagging, you would have to have a record of grief flagging (that is, flagging someone over and over again, when they have done nothing wrong, in order to harass them).

Ive tried to read the TOS but its kind of a blur. If you are aloud to give an opinion considering your a mod. Do you think i should be worried and do you think she will get disabled from this putting aside from all the times shes might have been flagged before. PS: thank you for your professional response and a response if anything.

I can't say for sure -- not because I'm not allowed, but because I do not have access to that information (the actual message and her account history). Without that, all I could do is speculate. Only IMVU can say for sure.

*Personally, I think it highly unlikely, however.

false flags happen, don't sweat it. it's repeated malicious flags that get attention or if message had anything bad in it. If not CS will ignore it.

From what I'm understanding from previous concerns about accidentally flagging a person then my should be fine ? I had accidentally flagged my friend trying to zoom message so i I could read it from my phone and had hit the flag spot accidentally. I don't want my friend to get in trouble for my mistake.

*mod hat off*

Best to read this - TOS (Terms Of Services): http://www.imvu.com/catalog/web_info.php?section=Info&topic=terms_of_service

and this - Virtual Goods Rating Policy : http://www.imvu.com/catalog/web_info.php?section=Info&topic=mature_content_policy

to know for sure but as stated previously, so long as there are no anomalies happening they should be fine

Unless you also clicked to choose the type of flag, nothing will have happened. Flagging isn't a one click process.

There's no way to cancel it, but so long as the message didn't break the terms of service, nothing should happen to him. The flag will just be marked as incorrect.
You won't get penalised unless you make a habit of flagging incorrectly and do it all the time.
