There are instances where you can win a ZCD DMCA, that is if it includes original artwork and you stated they do not have the rights to use it. Also ICON theft, if the person doing the ZCD can't take the time to make their own icon they deserve a DMCA take down.

I recently placed a help ticket to inform IMVU that a user had done just that with one of their products.

I got a canned response stating only the original owner can issue a DMCA. I never attempted to send in a DMCA just let them know people were ripping off their icons. Didn't seem they cared much.

DMCA has become a weapon of the disgruntled and unhappy much like malicious peer reviews.

You can't even flag a product in peer for Copyright violation if you wanted to.

If you feel something is stolen or a copyright violation of significant measure then contact the original owners and see if they want to pursue it.

Some manufacturers may care and make an effort, others will see it as free advertising of their products.

To verify a dev account isn't helpful for fake-DMCAs. EVERYONE can file one in- and outside of IMVU. You dont need to be a member here to file a DMCA for a product. e.G. if some makes nice images and some do copy and paste it as a sticker here - it's the right of the artist of the image to file a DMCA for the sticker, that IMVU takes it down - they have to, because its an act of law not the idea if IMVU.
But You can challenge a wrong DMCA, if Your product is affected.
The problem is - Your product is down for around 2-3 weeks and its hard to get at the top of the besties again.
I had that myself and I have heared from some other tier 6 and 5 devs that they got wrong DMCAs for some of their bestsellers - its as clear as daylight, that those DMCAs where filed just to kick besties from the first topsellersites.
