I'm guessing only Australian people will be seeing this banner. There is a banner that says 'Get an exclusive barbecue set with Prepaid Card redemptions to celebrate Labour Day in Australia!'
UM.
It's only Labour Day this Monday in Queensland and NT. The rest of Australia celebrates it in either March or October. Public holidays here often differ state by state.
So no, it is NOT Labour Day in Australia.
Do your flippin' research IMVU.
And a barbecue? Can't we have a new cultural stereotype?

Thought it was a bit weird after coming home to ALL the shops being open and seeing that banner. But Tasmania doesn't even have Labour Day holiday as far as I know.....not that I pay much attention really to public holidays lol

Yeah Poly Melbourne isn't much warmer than the country...and it's going to be 1C at night for the next five nights. Yay for meeeeeeeeeee.

I'm sure the stereotypical black and white striped prison outfits were something even IMVU's research team probably figured was over the top.
IMVU wants to give you special perks - true the holiday thing is wrong, but what's wrong with a little something-something even if it isn't being celebrated by you?
Besides, lots of athiests around here are perfectly willing to accept Xmas gifts.
Of course I'm not plugged into the whole Aussie thing, so maybe this is a huge deal.

It's not just not being celebrated by me. It's not being celebrated by most of the country. And it's not really something that anybody celebrates anyway. It's just a day off work or school.
Makes IMVU look lazy and ignorant.
