That's a graphics card issue, that or the fact that Dnutt was so close to the wall with the camera, that it is clipped. that wall is made up of two polygons, the camera has a near and far clipping distance, anything outside of those will actually not show those polygons, which is why you can see inside things when you look at them from very close up. |
I doubt that. Dnutt was in that building several times before, yet this never happened before the update. And I can zoom and turn the camera however I want, without the update, and get no flickering anywhere. _________________

I'm also using the latest version of the client, and that flickering is occurring right where the triangulation would subdivide that part of the mesh.
If I zoom out and look at the whole interior of that house, all the visible walls AND the ceiling do that, and they only seem to do it from certain viewing angles.
I was in no way clipping the wall.
If there were another mesh occupying the same space, I'd see the flickering all the time, and I'm sure the creator of that house would have seen it too. _________________ The decision itself is more important than what you are deciding... |

Best to probably stay on topic and bring this up another time, flickering is a whole new issue to sorting out the way texture co-ordinates are processed.
I'd recommend making a video of it though, a picture doesn't really help visualise the problem you are having as best as it can be. _________________

So still nothing new on IMVU's side as per the "non-issue issue"?
There were "no issues" with the non-English versions of the chat client, but eventually IMVU fixed them.
Why don't they react this time? Seems they like doing the same mistake of not listening to their user base again and again. _________________

She sees it. Since she updated. So there is clearly a relation to a change made by IMVU and/or the latest update. _________________

sometimes things like this can be the unintended consequence of something more removed than one might think. With so many things changing all the time, it's probably like a needle in a haystack. _________________ Behold The Splendor-Available NOW

Either way, we need to keep this thread active. This is a pretty big and frustrating problem, and staff at least needs to properly acknowledge it.
Also we should post examples of items showing this bug. _________________ The decision itself is more important than what you are deciding... |

I might be ignored here, nothing new, but after more hours fighting to hide the red. Finally it's all gone without having to make granny panties. Now one strange thing happened while getting it right. My opacity is now 257 x 512 no red is seen. Tried to re-size it to 256 x 512 red was back faint but back.
So is it me or there something truly wrong here.
In short it seems meshes are slightly off centered all over, and it's a recent problem not something that the meshers did, because it would have shown up from day dot not now. |

Maticb, I'd say it's kinda related, since it's how the client treats texture co-ordinates and how they are processed.
Zsuzsika, That is a very relevant point, 257 is an odd number, which will force the way textures are processed differently than evenly dividing the texture space.
Oh no wait, IMVU have already checked, and nothing's broken right?
I wonder how this would have looked using the old previewer. Maybe this incorrect way it processes texture space, was been introduced since create mode came in. _________________

Could this be due to anti-aliasing making the edges of your opacity a little fuzzy when you resize? _________________

I thought this was the issue since page 1 http://www.imvu.com/catalog/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpbb2&file=viewtopic.php&t=422819&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
But have also suspected a shift of 1 pixel...up down or left right....either would also cause this. _________________
