PostPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2012 4:12 am    Post subject: Help creating an new foot Reply with quote

Hello All

I deleted the original foot, and I built a new foot.
I have assigned to the mesh ID MATERIAL foot = 8 (SKIN)

I have not apply "wrap or unwrap" modifier.

and the result is this

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg208/scaled.php?server=208&filename=pie2z.jpg&res=landing
http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg337/scaled.php?server=337&filename=pie1.jpg&res=landing

the texture does not correspond to that part of the foot,

how I can solve this problem?

there is a solution other than to start again deforming the orginal foot?

note: I had no problems for the physique, it works right.

Thanks.

the map of the new foot that you have made, must be in the same place of the original foot, the maps should match

hi again

I have correctly applied the "snap toggle"

but, I just get this.

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg13/scaled.php?server=13&filename=pie1ei.jpg&res=landing

in original foot , ID MATERIAL = 8 ,
BUT id material = 8 is this

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg822/scaled.php?server=822&filename=female04anime01topsmini.jpg&res=landing

as I can do, for EXACTLY the portion corresponding to the foot of the image (id material 8 ), exact match my new foot

I think you need to do something with the UNWRAPE TOOL, but not that good management tool.

I should do, for my new foot, you have the Same texture of skin than the default body, I create my own texture?

I am new creating body parts

I hope I have explained it better,

Thanks.

have you adjust the "original foot" to your new foot? You should not have problems because the original foot has the standard map, once you have adjusted the original foot to your new foot, erase the foot that you have made, and work with the original of imvu

sorry xd maybe you need to apply a texture of lines, and see if they show correctly, if not, you will need to fix that on Unwrap UVW

open the original file witch u have started from then select one foot then put the unwrap modifier on click edit and it will show u some green seams around the foot so u can be aware of how thw mapping of the foot is then go to ur new foot file ( u can open 2 , 3dsmax at the same time so u can look at both at the same time) now with ut new foot put unwrapUVW underneath the physique / skin then click edit it will show u the map after that in ur modifier panel in the unwrap mod u scrool down till u find the button that says pelt or something like that with that button u can select the polygons around the foot to create a map when u see a seam on the original foot apply it on the new one by clicking the button that says point to point seams that will create some seams for u.. hope this helps and makes sense

yes what ive just explained allows u to make a uv map for texturing after ur done with the uv map right click the unwrap mod and click collapse to that will save up the mapping u just did after that u will go to the material tab and select the material witch has the foot on it when u select that look at the material id it has then click ok now select the button element and then select the foot. With the element option if u scrool down u will see smoothing grp put the id number that u saw in the material tab into smoothing grps for example 1,2,3,4, etc witchever one is it that should set its material
