I totally agree!!!!
SO im guessing IMFU is moving away from "dress up for adults" No wonder we are losing our AP stuff. What next? Pin the tail on the donkey parties? _________________

Really, IMVU??? Really? I'm completely embarrassed that this is even on this site. Can you spell SELLOUT? This is an insult and an affront on so many levels... insult to all users, as far as mass advertising spam, insult to all non-female and all non-U.S. users, insult to parents to entice 13 year olds to submit real life pictures... OMG, IMVU! What were you thinking?! Are credit sales down so much that you have to stoop to such levels? Maybe if you fixed the catalog, people will want to shop more, and you'll sell more credits so people can go shopping. Wow, IMVU! Just WOW! _________________

They can boil it down any way they chose. Put as many bells and whistles on it as they like. I personally (as a mother) cannot get my head around the fact they are encouraging 13 year old girls to submit real life photos!!.
In this day and age where cyber bullying, is so large, we all know what will happen when 13 year olds glimpse each other and start picking faults with each other. Not to mention the sick perverts hiding behind their computers and loving the new material they have to ogle at. Because we all know everyone tells the truth on the age question when they sign up for IMVU, so anyone can pose as a 13 year old girl.
I understand the competition rules are different for each country, but seriously?? Blatant disregard for users outside the US is terrible. You could of offered credit prizes to others. Its not hard IMVU, a little common sense wouldn't hurt...
Oh and as a VIP, i DO NOT want to see advertisement _________________

Either will work.
Do you have IMVU Inc. on your block list? That would prevent you from getting it.
As for the advertisement stuff, there is a few keywords in Varsha's statement that means everyone can get the ads. "We have partnered up with". Partners are not considered 3rd party advertisers (or so we have been told for a year or two now).
Name owner (before the change) or VIP..doesn't matter. They can show it to you if they are a partner. We don't get subjected to things like GoogleAds though. _________________

The programming of this promotion is as bad as all the OTHER bad programming that's killing imvu...
--My alt female account, not vip, not name owning, got it.
--A second similar account, got it.
So i rushed on Friday and switched from "male" to "female" in my profile:
--An account with VIP and AP
--One account with no VIP or AP
--2nd account with no VIP or AP
But later on Friday, I got it in the account that DOES have VIP and AP.
...Which, male or female... isn't supposed to happen?
Lol?
Another odd but trivial thing... the items i got in my female accounts were a thumbnail of the beach.
In my VIP, AP, previously male account, I got items with the thumbnail saying "Welcome to IMVU!" running across the top of it.
Wonder if both differently-thumbnailed items are identical or not. They LOOKED the same at a quick glance.
Anyway, imvu lied to me by dropping these damn ads. I PAID for no third party ads. How is "partnering up" different than any of the other ads?!?
I REALLY would like to see the legal documentation where "no third party ads" is added onto with "unless they're ads we say we "partnered-up" with lol... SUCKER".
Well... with many of our creator's items VANISHING from the catalog in a big, glitchy event... or the dev's income not reporting right or being given period... or making people create in the client for "safety"... or the client creator "safety" failing and making it a pointless bother... or the radio people pay money for not working... or the lag, the dreadful lag... or the BREAKING of THOUSANDS of items by imvu... or the easier flagging in pointless areas, along with harder flagging in important areas... or imvu letting GA hear AP music... or the camera being broken... or going hardcore with the enforcement of AP products... or not letting AP users talk about themselves on their avi cards... or not making good on their promise to let non-VIP block their avi from being molested by perverts... or not doing anything about death threats to people in PMs... or not being able to see where people really are in rooms... or not telling people WHY they have been banned or suspended... or customer service being awful... or not being able to stay in chats without crashing... or crashing in a room and having no indication of it until it's too late... or the whole client crashing... or spending hours decorating only to find NONE of it was saved... or outfits not showing as saved or not saving at all... or the removal of spacing lines in Pulse... or mute never being fixed and returned... or not always telling us when they covertly remove items, banned or innocent, from the inventories that we paid them for... or buddies just vanishing off your buddylist when EVERYONE swears they'd never do that... or not having an Android app or letting you use prepaid cards with Android... or... or... you know what? I'm really tired.
I just guess they've lost so many customers that it's come down to needing an advertiser to pay them for pics of 13 year olds.
Mind-boggling. _________________

Really, really, really DUMB idea.
I've seen some stoopid stuff come down the pike in my nearly 5 years on this site, but IMVU - this one takes the cake!
Enticing 13-year old females to participate in an online contest by submitting their RL photographs which will be viewed by many adults of questionable character is more than just stupid, it's dangerous.
I am a "safety" moderator for the Daily Outfit Challenge where we reject pictures daily because they show a few red pixels in the wrong places. We also reject pictures that depict activities that 13 year old kids should not be viewing.
And, yet, as a blatantly obvious sell-out advertising ploy, IMVU does this sort of exploitation contest utilizing REAL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHS OF TEENAGE GIRLS? Even the product name is suggestive, so we can just imagine the types of photos these kids will be submitting - many probably done without the knowledge or consent of their parents.
Shame on you, IMVU.
PS: How much you wanna bet whoever made this moronic self-serving deal got a flippin' bonus check? _________________ Windows 7 Home Premium

I totally didn't even think of that lol.
"How's this 13 year old look to you?"
"Why... she's absolutely skintimate."

Even tho I'm a very liberal, forward-thinking person, if I had a teenage daughter, there's no way in hell I'd allow her to post up a real life picture of herself in this contest nor anywhere else on IMVU (I don't even want my real life pictures online anywhere so why would I put a teenage girl out there for all of the perverted people to ogle). _________________
