I use photoshop because I took a class for two years on it and I feel more comfortable using that program.

If you haven't used either, I'd suggest Gimp, unless you can get a copy of Photoshop somewhere for hella cheap (or free). I've been using PS for about....9 years now, so I'm very used to it. XD

Ultimately, the choice is up to you, since there are great tutorials for everything in either program. Smile

Photoshop is my best virtual friend <3 I do not know what to do without her (yes, my ps is female). I think it is hard to say why because everything you can do with photoshop, you can do with a different app. I just started to work with it because i do not use windows. Now, i'm to lazy to use a different app. Some people say photoshop is complex but if you focus on something, it can be very easy to work with. The only thing: you do not need a lot of memory or even money for gimp

When I first started I used Corel Paint Shop Pro 2x and 3x. Than I went there to Photoshop Elements 8.0. I used Gimp alittle bit, there somethings like TGA format is better than Photoshop. But over all I use Photoshop on everything. I love Photoshop Smile I make alot crafts and everything from it. Photoshop has more stuff that you can do and still get the same result out of one program instead 50 million others. Overall I think Photoshop is the best Smile There is more stuff you can used for Photoshop than other programs.
