What did change was that subscribing to the VIP no longer includes name registration -- which means that instead of getting the cheaper cards and redeeming them for VIP, you have to get the more expensive pre-paid card that includes the name registration. |
Well what I was pointing was that I can't permanently own my name by using the pre-paid. There was an announcement with the changes for the pre-paid stating that anyone who uses a pre-paid for Name Registration that they were only temporarily getting the guest tag taken away from their name. _________________ Blog | Site | Facebook |

Sorry if this has been stated already but I can't be bothered to read through
Any card with a value of $25 or higher comes with free permanent name registration, in the UK it's any card with a value of 15 Pounds or higher. The process is automatic with no token redemption necessary. _________________

I can't find the thread in the archives but I know sometime last year they said anyone after May/March wouldn't get their names with the pre-paid card. It might've only been that way if you got VIP with the card, I can't really verify that besides what Minhyrdin had stated. _________________ Blog | Site | Facebook |

You can still get your name with a pre-paid card that includes the name registration -- I did it only a month ago, so I know it still works.
To give you an example of what has changed and what has not:
$25 prepaid card --
- 25,000 credits OR 3 months of VIP
- Name registration
You get the name registration regardless of whether you choose credits or VIP.
$10 prepaid card --
- 10,000 credits OR one month of VIP
Prior to May 1, 2011, VIP membership included name registration, which means you could get the $10 card, opt for the one month of VIP and own your name. After May 1, 2011, VIP only "rents" your name, so you can only purchase it (via prepaid card) by buying cards that state name registration is included.
To see which cards include name registration and which do not, go here and plug in the name of your country in the search bar (if prepaid cards are available in your country). The card denominations available to you and what they include will be displayed. _________________ The size of the purple monkeys has no effect on the height that banana fish can jump. |

No, I don't want to see this become VIP. I'd rather people ask about the item they are interested in anyway--it's fun conversation. _________________ "You're not going crazy... You're going sane in a crazy world!"--The Tick |

Well exactly, there are too many things being added/taken away from the client that just seem designed to kill conversation and interaction ... it's meant to be a chat site, they need to think about that before making changes that stop people chatting. _________________

I'm going to have to say no to this too.
When the whole "view products" appeared, I kept mine open all the time. I didn't care if someone wanted a product I was wearing. Obviously it meant I had good taste haa.
But then after a while, I got a couple of people who started looking exactly like me. They wouldn't leave me alone. They kept wanting to show me that they looked exactly like me. Honestly, it was so frustrating.
Now don't get me wrong, if someone wants to know something that I'm wearing, I'll tell them. I just won't tell them my whole outfit.. That's going too far for me.
Ever since then I have hidden my outfit to avoid such conflicts. Everyone has the right to hide their outfit if they don't want anyone else to see. It wouldn't be okay to take such a feature away from everyone. |

Even if a outfit is hidden you can still see it though, just takes more effort. _________________ My products n_n

Which many people wouldn't be willing to do, including myself. But if someone wants to go ahead and do that, I guess they can.
It just seems more hassle than it's worth.
I'd rather just go look for something similar in the catalog than go through all of that just to find the exact product.. |

This suggestion is by far the scariest I have ever come across. |
I completely agree with Jibril! Being that I have VIP at the current time, if this horror ever came into play, I'd be fine. On the flip side- what happens to those who have VIP and then lose it? You know, the simple fact of not being able to keep it up? Not everyone is made of money.
Plus, this takes away from the fun of being original. Everyone's going to copy this, that and the other user; we'd lose the enjoyment of being our own user with our own unique style.
As many others have said, they've hidden their outfits for a reason. People don't like to tell others what items or outfits they use for their avatar because it's what makes their avatar unique!
As Jibril said, this is definitely the scariest thing I've ever seen in the Feedback forums.
I don't support it at all. _________________

VIPs get enough as it is. Let the rest of us have SOMETHING. No thanks. _________________

It doesn't take that much time. :B
I find it so silly when people won't tell ONE product they're wearing, in the end they're just being unsupportive of the developer behind the item. _________________ My products n_n

I agree that being able to hide your outfits should remain availible to all imvu users, not just VIP users, i used to have my outfit contents visble till someone wl'isted the entire outfit i had on, down to the eyes , so yeah most of us spend enough money in the shop, why do we need to pay for VIP too? |

Exactly. There are still people who love to do that, and would take advantage of this should the idea go through. No one, no one, wants their originality stolen. I stick by what I said before. This is a frightening suggestion. _________________
