I dont post often as the number there will show, but I read the forums frequently and the AP stuff is I gotta say just mind blowing in a bad way.
Simple questions for the clowns running this circus (IMVU).......How many of your VIPers are APers? Keep taking away AP things and I have a feeling your VIP numbers will drop in turn.
Frankly I fail to see the logic in taking AP privileges away, but I guess that's why Im the user (ie the source of cash flow) and not one of the people running IMVU.
SMH. I just dont get it.
I do have to say though if they made an AP section for those pics to be shared it would be fabulous. I personally dislike having to hop between web and client for every other thing so kudos on that side.

OK, am I missing something? What do you mean, take away AP privileges? I thought this thread was about the photo galleries. Is there a thread somewhere about AP? If so, can someone give me the link please? _________________ Actions speak louder than words, IMVU

There are several new features that ap users are excluded from this is one of them. AP users can have their ap pictures however to share pictures all sharable pics has to be GA. Effectively keeping ap users from sharing any pics that are ap. Even if a picture is decent and has just one or two visible ap objects in the pic the pic is still ap.
This is what we are all griping about. They have no plans on creating an ap only option to allow us to share pics with other ap users. _________________

OK, I'm not sure I understand. If you are AP, you won't get this gallery thing in the chat program? _________________ Actions speak louder than words, IMVU

no everyone has the gallery just AP pictures are not allowed to be shared. If you scroll back up we were told to flag any visible ap pictures in gallery's. So any pictures that can be shared are GA only. This kind of cuts a huge section of ap members from sharing ap pictures with other ap members. _________________

Well, I only share pictures with friends anyway, and with the number of avi pics I have seen of naked avis and inappropriate content, i can understand why IMVU is taking this action. Truthfully, I'm not fussed about that. I simply would rather not have it on the chat at all. No matter what they say about not getting rid of the website, all their actions prove otherwise.
As for reporting AP pictures, it is a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. I reported 2 naked display pictures over a month ago. One was of an illegal trigger penis. Reporting them put them on my blocked list. I have checked the list from time to time to see if the pictures have changed or they have been disabled. NOPE! The only change on one was it went from just the picture of the penis to a picture of a sex act with a naked female avi. So, IMHO they still aren't doing enough! _________________ Actions speak louder than words, IMVU

| The problem is imvu gives out warnings first, so the offenders keep on offending! |

I just went to the Community Page and it has been removed there as well. There are probably bugs that they need to work out, but I doubt if we have seen the last of it, since the original post said that they plan to release it with 466.0. _________________ Actions speak louder than words, IMVU

The really amusing and screwed up thing about this 'restriction'... Now, if you save an AP outfit, you automatically violate the IMVU terms of service then. It automatically saves a picture of your outfit, does it not? So exactly how do you expect your 'rule abiding' imvu customers to follow this rule to the letter if they want to save an AP only outfit? I mean even if they delete it, they still technically violate the IMVU TOS by having the picture in there even for a minute or two, and as such if it was publicly displayed it could be flagged and result in them being banned eventually, no? Add in an AP only option, otherwise, this WILL be a problem, I guarantee it. _________________ Keep your friends close... Keep your wallet, closer. |

I wondered about that gallery link on the landing/community page. It was there and then...it wasn't. Personally I'm glad it's gone but like Make Friends it will probably return at some point _________________

First you see it, now you don't. The chaos is probably only going to get worse when it's fully implemented. Whenever you try to update technology but get repressive on the policies, you are going to have a mess on your hands and a lot more angry customers. Where is the common sense that ignores the obvious headache with AP pictures. Some obvious pornographic images are going to be widely accepted as undesirable. But I would venture a guess that there are tens of thousands of images that will be considered to be borderline AP that if seen in a general interest magazine would be acceptable for publication even if seen as sultry or overly suggestive. And who is going to make the decision as to what is too sexual and what is acceptable according to community standards? In essence there are NO community standards in IMVU, simply company policy decided by a handful of Big Brother overseers. In order for any policy or law to be effective and easily enforceable, it is well known social theorem that you must have voluntary compliance among most of your community. If you exceed ten to fifteen percent of the population who are noncompliant, the policy can be easily rendered unenforceable. I venture to predict the percentage will far exceed that. Setting up each user to have innocent pictures be flagged by those who would be offended by a nun's ankle, by those with an ax to grind with someone they dislike, or just someone out to troll for trouble. And what about gray areas? What about the user who believes a picture is in compliance, but according to IMVU isn't? More customer anger!
You don't have to think very long about this to see it will be a complete and utter mess without a way to manage AP images and mark images as AP. This Disney-fying of IMVU is just getting so distasteful and promises to intensify a love / hate relationship with IMVU. |
