1st don't worry about being pro. Have the Pro tag means nothing anymore. As sadly many people that have the "Pro" tag have stolen textures, use copy righted images, and so on. Yes, there are some real Pro's out there but most are not.
Now tips for making great textures...
1. read every tut you can find
2. practice a lot
3. get to know your editing program well
4. more practice _________________ CandyApple or PoisonApple, Which would you choose? |

This is 100% right. And after you do those things if you are having trouble with a specific aspect of something and have looked and looked for tutorials and either can't find one or just don't get it... Then... ask in the forums! There are great dev's here who really know thier stuff and are more than willing to help you out. _________________ |

Though I always say read tutorials you should, but you also need to study the natural flow of fabric and the lighting on the fabric. After you get that done, you can use simple tuts to get just about any effect you are looking for. _________________

That's exactly it..
Get to know the fabric you want to 'digitalize'
& then get to know your editing program to the point where you know various ways to achieve that effect...
+ keep high standards in mind. Being a bit of a neurotic perfectionist always helps.. _________________

Beinga profectionist will drive you crazy, but what you think will be a mediocre product will be a fantastic one and will sell. I have things that I think will do horribly and sell like mad. Study study study, you are being a fashion designer here on IMVU. You have to take nessicairy steps to becaome the developer/fashionista you want to be. _________________

I could NOT agree more about studying real fabrics, textures, how they hang on the human form.
Knowing how to make a wrinkle is a good first step, but knowing where that wrinkle goes takes it to the next level in quality texturing.
Good luck! And practice, practice practice. SKullMutilat3r and the others have made some fabulous suggestions _________________

ok thanks for the info here but can you give me an idea of how to atleast make the texture of the clothing. Example: Clothing of the hoodies, cause most of my products are made by myself and well some i admit are from the texture of the creator i derived that specific product to. And i kinda dont like being a pro without knowing how to really make good clothing texture. Although i make some stuff already, i know this is not yet that Much professional. so please i need help. Thank you~ |

I learnt many of my techniques from a digital art magazine. Magazines like this are full of workshops and advice from high-rollin digital artist's. I like having those on the book shelf so I can refer to them when-ever I like.
My art tutor once told me "You cannot succeed if you don't learn from the masters first" ..... so research, practise, research, practise, research some more. Get into a group as well, being around other like-minded people will keep your drive to learn when your hitting your head on the desk! lol
