REALLY mixed signals

Let's admit it, we all screw up once in a while in RP. Sometimes it's because of gravely misunderstanding another RPer.

An RPer came into The Haunted Inn a few months ago whose character had been badly abused. She was bloodied, and told this terrifically powerful sad story of what she suffered. It was really well done. I was there as Dracula (IamCountDracula). And he got it into his head to make of this ragamuffin a vampire. It would have amused him to see her take bloody revenge on those who wronged her and gain the loyalty of a new vampire in the process. I had him make her a vampire... She got very angry at me OOC.

Through the WHOLE scene I kept OOC asking if it was okay and she said it was but somehow she misunderstood what I was doing and I misunderstood what she wanted. She, apparently, had hoped for her character to die.

She went OOC and ranted 'I was hoping to find a sadist to kill this character off and now I'm stuck with a vampire!' I had to explain to her that in our room we don't kill a character without the consent of the player and told her we could retcon making her a vampire but she quickly left the inn and never came back.

So any RP turn out really badly and you feel at least partly at fault?
