How do I create a hair mesh in blender??

Im a new creator with blender tryint to learn how to make meshes of hair in blender..I downloaded the starter files from IMVU..but I dont know what to do from there or how to open the files in blender

Short answer, you can't open the files that IMVU provides in Blender.

You can make hair meshes in Blender, though. Search the groups for Blender Creators and jazzkat's lounge. Those are both great groups fro Blender specific tutorials.

About meshing hair in Blender...its a tedious process. I'd highly recommend not starting with hair. Make a few items and build up to it. I know many long-time Blender devs that still won't do hair.

I hope you get it, but I know several people that tried to start with hair or clothing in Blender before they were comfortable with the whole process that have given up because it is a steep learning curve. Start small and build up your confidence in your Blender abilities. Once you get the hang of each step, its really not so bad at all.

does anyone know the link for blender so that i can begin to create hair meshes.. or know how to create a mesh period. I have been searching for a tutorial and have not found any.. PLEASE ASSIsT!!!!!!!
