I would imagine it's the same method you us now...take frame by frame shots of the dance, and set the speed for animation to be higher than normal to make it look like a vid. _________________

But then there would be a lot of frames and the size would go above 50kb _________________

Try it with 50% less frames and perhaps lower the kbs by 1st saving the images for web use, then arrange them for animation?

You use a screen capture program and then import the frames into Photoshop, I'm not sure if that method of importing works for GIMP as well. you'll end up with a lot of frames but most of them are repeats of each other so you take one from each step and place it as a layer in your icon and make the .gif file.

I use Camtasia which is a paid program but CamStudio is a free program that can do what you need it to do.

I'd just remember that IMVU does have plans to change the icons and amongst those changes is meant to be a stop to animated icons _________________

The fact that the icon frame rate can often end up being to fast and strobes which isn't good for ESP or a good many other medical conditions. Hence the recent changes IMVU added to the animated icon rules. _________________

Well yeah, but most are not annoying and flashing, few changing pics but it's not so bad. And most new creators do the whole flashy thing cuz I dunno they don't no how to make icons. Who knows. Imvu is looking out for those peoole that have medical conditions but it's the same as just as chatting and some one puts on a flashy outfit, is imvu gonna band all flashy outfits too? _________________

Well by the TOS and the VGP the clothing if it flashes to quickly or strobes it is breaking the rules. _________________
