I'm not sure, but it may be because there are some imvu files that are hidden by your computer and cannot be found to uninstall. Try clicking start, then click on Help and Support. Type in the words "hidden files" in the search box and follow the instructions given to unhide them .. then try uninstalling again. I'm not guarrenteeing it'll work, but its worth a try. Smile Good luck.

try deleting the contents of the cache directories manually first. They can contain several hundred megabytes of files and slow the uninstall to a halt.

Might be just me but when i use the Imvu Cache Cleaner my Imvu freezes too for some Minutes due to the amount of files in Cache. Did you try to wait for some minutes ?

The Cache can be huge and if Windows have to deal with a lot of files it tends to freeze until things are done.

Try doing what Auntie said to do. This happened to me too. I was trying to uninstall IMVU even in a high spec computer the uninstaller freezed. Here's what you should do:

Go to :
Quote:
C:/Users/[User name]/AppData/Roaming/IMVU/Cache

Delete the entire cache folder as its not needed anymore (you are going to uninstall, a new one is created in it's place). Next, proceed with normal uninstallation.

Its also good to practice cache cleaning every week ~ month depending how active you are.

please do not bump old threads.
The reason uninstalling is slow is the large cache size. it is not 'On purpose'.

bump Very Happy

It's still a problem. I don't consider this an old thread if it's still a problem. I can log in for 5 minutes then uninstall and it'll still hang so it has nothing to do with large quantity of files or anything like that. It's just a bug.

Use device manager and end the process "Au_.exe"

It's been an issue for years.

I just had to un-install imvu .. all you have to do is go to your control panel.
Go to ' PROGRAMS' then click un-install a program... Scroll through the list find imvu and it does all the work

Patience is the solution it may take up to a hour and a half if your cache is full.
