i'm new to being a dev. i just signed up yesterday. i downloaded gimp, but i have no clue what i am doing. if anyone can drop by my page and give me some pointers, i would be incredibly greatful. i'm just trying to make a basic sticker with an image that i already have, i just don't know how exactly to do it or make a thumbnail for it or anything. HELP ME PLEASE!!! Confused

There's actually a whole bunch of tutorials you can read through, your in the right section so next all you gotta do is start thumbin through all this stuff.

Fer gimp, practice makes perfect, seriously. Fiddle around with all the cool filters they have, experiment with brushes and then later you can download some more at places like deviantart.com and so on. When youre feeling more adventurous and actually have a feel of things. There's also tutorials on the gimp website and ofcourse thers alot all over Google. Start searching chick.

Good Luck..

You can take any image convert it to grayscale and save it as a .gbr. Put it in the brush folder and it becomes a brush.

To use the brushes you need to drag and drop them in the brush folder. The brush folder is here.

C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\brushes

Best site for brushes is in your head. Please read my post above this one.

http://cooltext.com/.
Or you can simply make your text in here save it in png or psd format and add it as layer to your image.
Just untill you find the easier way to make your own.
