[Old thread locked by moderator ~ Loving]

I personally think that the access pass is alot of money. With 20 bucks i vould spend it on alot more things than just an ap. The ap deosn't even come with a anything its just a badge for 20 bucks. Also it isn't commercially advertised enough. If i could buy an access pass with a prepaid card then i would probably buy it because it is easier and there isn't any hassle with credit cards. Also becaue we are still paying for the ap, just with a prepaid card instead of a credit card. If you could buy it with a prepaid card then many people would buy it and it would be more comercially advertised. Only people over 18 would have that option when the signed on to retrieve the ap.

You can't buy AP with prepaid card because any minor can walk into best buy or target, or wherever and buy a prepaid. IMVU deem a credit card safer.

What do you mean, "AP doesn't come with anything?" It comes with access to THOUSANDS of more catalog pages for you to buy items from...It comes with another Public room for you to create. (Since you're VIP you have 2 now...AP will get you another...and if you cancel VIP, your AP Pass will slide one of those rooms to you so you still have 2)....Plus you get access to AP Public rooms, groups, and Forums. And I'm not 100% certain with this, but doesn't it come with the Age Verification Token as well?

I guess I just don't understand you enough with the suggestion. You say $20 is alot for the AP Pass. Yet you'd spend that money on a Pre-Paid card in order to buy it. You're 22 and show as living in California....If you do not have a credit card, then mail IMVU a check with your proof that you're an adult. (I think IMVU still does that)....You can file a VIP Help ticket and ask.

lol Tony, I am pretty sure when the OP says AP pass doesn't come with anything, he is comparing it to VIP, where he gets present and credits every month lol.

Anyone can make an account saying they're over 18. What buying the AP with the credit does is it makes sure it's for an account with the same name as the card it's payed for, proving that the account holder is over 18.

I think this is a good idea. That is if you sell IMVU AP cards, where you have to confirm your age at the cash register before buying the card by showing ID, like when you buy an MA video game or rated R movie or alcohal.

I have a paypal account but for some reason you can't buy AP with Paypal even though you have to be adult to have a Paypal account, just like with a credit card.

It would be extremely easy for an individual to have an older friend buy the "AP Card" for them would it not? I mean I could walk into a store and buy one for a 13 year old could I not? Not that I would, I'm simply pointing out a serious flaw in the logic used.

I have to agree, IMVU will not want to make pre-paid AP cards--not only because of the risk of underagers purchasing is so high, but also because IMVU clearly wants to minimize their reputation as an adult site. I don't think this will come anytime soon.

You could say the same about using a credit card to buy it now off the site. In fact it's easier because kids use their parents credit cards all the time. And IMVU can't see the face of the card holder.

I just want to correct you Tony...I have both AP and VIP AP gives you 2 public rooms and VIP gives you 1 so if you have both AP and VIP you can have 3 public rooms open like myself

Yes Phoenix, with the AP Pass and the VIP Club both, you get to make 3 Public Rooms total....However, if you just own the VIP Club pass you can make 2 rooms....also if you're just an AP Pass holder, you can make 2 rooms. It's in the Public Rooms FAQ.

And as it was explained to me once by a Mod....If a holder of the VIP Club pass creates 2 rooms, and also has the AP Pass, and decides to cancel their VIP subscription....their 2 rooms that were created as VIP will now be taken over by their AP Pass as long as they did not create any additional rooms on the AP Pass.

No, for the reasons mentioned in this thread.

And why would a credit card make that sure? It's an illusion to think children can't have credit cards. Maybe not in the US, I don't know about that. But there are countries in wich age doesnt matter. If you want a credit card, you can just have it. Besides there's always the risk of children using their parents credit card.

I think you should first have your age verified. Then if you got that and you're proven to be over 18, you got the right to buy AP and then it doesn't matter what you buy it with. After all, IMVU already knows your age then.

Kids in the USA can have a credit card if their parents get it for them. The only thing they would have to worry about is if the parents see it on their statement.
