how does one unblock someone they cannot see on their blocked list.

have tried going to their page and hitting block again ... doesn't work.

if indeed it's impossible then why doesn't imvu WARN users when they prepare to block someone?

please serious replies only.

There is no "simple answer".

IMVU is aware that their blocked list is bugged. They have been informed ad nauseam.

You can go here and see if their name appears on the list to be unblocked. (Be warned that if your blocked list is very lengthy, it takes at best ages for this page to load -- and even then it may not show everyone on the list.)

Some in desperation have unblocked everyone on the list just to get to the one they actually wished to unblock.

You can try filing a help ticket and hope for the best. <sigh>

How long is your blocked list? This list hasn't worked right ever, as far as I know. The more people on your blocked list, worse it seems to be. Some people have had to unblock people first, unblock the one they want and reblock people.

blocking people is pretty useless either. The only thing it does it stop people from sending messages to your hp. Even then, they can still send you a message if they include 1 credit gift in it.

lol , hey well receiving one credit or maybe two for each message can add up to the person who is getting the messages :3

the length of my list approaches 100 or more. as for it's uselessness ... i'm glad you mentioned this because on another thread i have seen several people make negative remarks about blocking people. let me explain why some lists can be very long. i have had a room open for close to 2 years now. it's a very specific kind of room (furry only) that i, unlike many room owners, monitor religiously. i provide a room that is furry (or any other non-human) only so that people can spend time without the fear (and yes, many are in fact uncomfortable around those who think it's abominable) of being ridiculed. it's also ga so i get many quite young visitors. you'd be surprised how many vicious 'people' come in to harass us and the nasty things they say. or just those who believe they can talk anyway they want no matter what aged people may be in a room. i'm talking about really foul language ... or being too amorous or any other behavior i think is improper for underaged people. booting alone works with some, but only banning will work with many. also i will ban those who stalk certain friends so that they have a 'safe harbour' to come to. so yeah, over a couple years it adds up.
why do i need to unban? because there are times when even a regular has to be banned. but i also believe in giving second chances. when someone begs to be let back in i will almost always allow it.

so i am just looking for an answer. not a diatribe about how i 'should' do things. i'm not suggesting, karen, that you are attempting to insult me here. this is meant for others who can't figure out why some people have so many on their ban list. and also to explain to YOU why banning is NOT a useless thing. the regs and many others are VERY pleased with how my room is run.

First off....chill out for a sec. Karen never said that you 'should' do anything. She simply expressed her opinion on the state of blocking users around here. No lecture, no "diatribe"...just an opinion.

It's great that you're happy with how blocking works for YOU....but MANY others here are not. Karen pointed out one flaw with it. And that's only ONE. The fact remains that IMVU does not do enough. A blocked person can still view your HP, visit your Gallery, and send you messages. So her statement of "blocking", is in fact True. The current state of blocking a person is horrible. It's disastrous actually....If a blocked person still has the ability to do all that....what good is it actually doing? Rolling Eyes

Thanks Tony Smile

@ Priznr. As Tony said, I wasn't going on a diatribe about how you should do things. I was merely giving my opinion on the dismal blocking feature. I had forgotten that blocking banned people from a public room too.

I understand your reasons for blocking people from your public room Priznr, but having so many blocked causes more problems. There is NO good answer to this problem. You might have to change how you do things, or live with a totally unmanageable blocked list. As Minh pointed out, people have poked imvu about fixing this forever.

i knew i didn't quite put it right karen. i wrote it just after waking up this morning. i know you didn't do a diatribe and that remark wasn't directed at you. it was a general comment about others i've seen in other threads about blocking. your more current reply simply gave me the chance to explain why some people ban a LOT. i'm sorry if it sounded like i was going off on you.
i will say this ... blocking people and not being able to unblock is still preferrable to me than putting up with the offensive things most of the people on my list bring to my room.
and as long as this has been a problem it's amazing to me no one in charge has thought it necessary to fix.

i hear what you're saying ... but the good it is actually doing for me is that it keeps them out of my room. the only way they can circumvent that is to open another id. and that isn't worth it to anyone because it costs them more money and if the behavior doesn't change anyway they'll just be banned under the new id.
