I spent HOURS and THOUSANDS of credits making a room really interesting for a theme I was working on. When I was happy with how it looked, I then decided to turn it into a public chat room. I went to the add page, followed the instructions, chose the room base my nicely decorated room is based on, and finished the process. Lo and behold, my room was made. IT WAS THE BASE ROOM with NO furniture! I didn't realize it would do this. I'm so... there's no words. Hours... wasted... Is there ANY way to import my room as it was decorated, into a chat room I can use? I could of course, just privately invite people to my own room, but honestly, I'd like others to be able to enjoy it. What can I do?

Anyone who says, "You can just start over and re-build your room from scratch like you did before! 8D" will have their face eaten. It's ok to tell me there's ntohing else I can do, but IMVU Gods, can you please, if it's not already possible, give us a way to import our furniture setups into a public chat room we build if we use the same room base so it matches? PLEASE?!

Remember to check "Clone from existing room in inventory" when creating the Public Room.
Then choose which room shell you're using etc.

That's how it should work...

LadyAnki is correct. That is how I do it. Decorate in private, then clone from existing room.

Note: Once you have made your public room, any changes you make to the public room, will not be reflected in the private and vice versa. Upshot is, if you make huge changes to the public room, if you delete it one day, you lose all changes. However, if you make changes to the private room, then delete the old public room and upload it again, the changes will carry through to the public room.

Perhaps I have miss something...

On my side, I created in private. I then clicked: "Community" >"Public Rooms" > "Create a New 3D Chat Room" > select "Clone from existing room in inventory" ... and my room doesn't appear.

"Create with empty room shell" only load an empty room, right?

The room I want to pick is called "[69s] Spooky Cavern". It only appear in the "empty room shell". Do I need to start over?

Last question, a user can only make two rooms... if I make two rooms, then delete one, can I create again?

That specific room of 69's is a locked room....You can't clone a locked room. So you're going to have to use the empty shell & decorate it yourself.

And yes, if you delete one room out of your two.....you get to make another room. You can always have two rooms. If you purchase the AP Pass, you will be able to create 3 total rooms.

Once you let your VIP subscription end, your rooms will stay in place, but you will not have the ability to edit them, or boot people from them.

Now that I have a little more experience, I can add that this is surely not fair, considering the time and money we can put in a project. Also, creating a room is also creating one type of social environment; it is not written "My Room" in our homepage for nothing; to lose our moderator option when losing that Vip badge doesn't make senses. At least, the room stays there... come on, the site cannot be that "beta"...

Question is: when we return as a vip... will we at least return in charge of our room again (mod/editor)? This "Vip" is a... Very Interesting Problem.

It is totally fair that if you let vip lapse, you lose the ability to edit or moderate your room in any way. You are lucky to even be able to keep the room after vip lapses. Most other websites would have fixed that little bug a long time ago.

Only if your have AP and VIP can you create and edit or moderate your rooms. If you have neither, you lose that perk. You pay you get, sounds pretty fair to me.

This depends of the side we are; from the view of the visitors, it is surely not; from the side of who are in charge, it is a way to keep running the site. A not bad alternative. Sure open for debate.

Bug? Then I guess we were never a Vip when we thought we were one. Even if we paid for it.

To me it is certainly not a bug; deleting someone's work for so less would simply turn the place less appealing; to keep the room public and open is one honorable way to say "thank you" to the customers. And like all the Imvu members, I am thankful (we paid money and energy in this) and the Vip membership is even more appealing.

Well... if we get back our mod/editing option; I'm not sure about what was answered.

The site should also keep the room/mod/editing option for a member who has paid a certain amount of money or paid a certain amount of Imvu prepaid cards.

AP is a one time buy this will give you 2 public rooms you pay the price once and your done. Now VIP is a monthly member ship of $9.99 (usd) you get a lot of extra's for being VIP a 5% discount in the catalogs a VIP only forum monthly gifts from IMVU you can block some actions like attacks and flirts from taking place also we get 5000 credits a month . I also understand that the VIP members we get a faster reply to help tickets as well. so I think VIP is worth the money.
Now IMVU has had a few bugs about public rooms in the past few weeks . If you upload your public room then look in your room list from the manage public room inventory you will see the name of the room now twice. One is the clone of the decorated room and the other is an empty one. If you have a lot of rooms well lets say 300 plus such as I then finding the right room can be a pain . I have not checked lately to see if IMVU has fixed the bug but I know they will when they get to it for there are a lot of changes taking place with the chat client every day.
I hope this information helps a few of you and you understand a little better your IMVU Life.

I got a question when you're the head of the chat room and you wanted someone to decorate the room, would the person be able to decorate the room when you make them a mod?
