| I quite agree moderator Rob never mind changes at this time!! can we have a cast iron guarantee that our old audio files will not be affected btw your latest update is so bad i would strongly advice against anyone installing it, do you actually carry out any testing and if so may i enquire as to which type? how do you explain the constant glitches instead of getting better it is getting worse. Do you Utilize invalid boundary analysis? code checks? regression, new functionality? user compatibility diagnosis, also will you be refunding all the credits for the files that are affected I do hope so as you cannot expect the users to bear the brunt of this latest outrage. |

Audio on homepages will not be affected by this change. Only audio in the 3D chat client. _________________ n8 |

The limit is per specific audio file, not of the product in total. Thus, you can have a product with 10 audio triggers, each playing 20 seconds and that is fine. _________________ n8 |

If this doesn't affect streaming audio products, it shouldn't ruin the imvu club scene too badly! |

|
|
1. How exactly does this help thing other then allowing you to make more profit?
2. Does this meen that we can make full songs as long as they are in the IMVU music library?
3. In reference to question 2, if so then how do we know what songs are on that list in order to keep this from happening? |

| One last thing. I hope IMVu considers adding a link to the IMVU music store on the newly revamped dashboard! That would be pretty kewl too! |

This will make PR so much easier. And hopefully limiting all the audio files will help the client run more smooth. All the space all that music is using must be horrendous.
It would be one thing if one copy of each song had been submitted. But you have 1000 devs all loading the same song wasting tons of space.
I do hope they find a away to use self made music.
Will this effect the media players that a lot of use in our public rooms?

| GuardianRob wrote: | Heya all,
a little more than a week ago I notified the creator community the following information:
For quite sometime everyone has been concerned about audio files being created and entered into the catalog.
The primary reason behind this is due to the file size and bandwidth these products take up on our service. This needed to be addressed and we have been working on this for quite sometime.
From the day we launch this process on, anyone who submits an audio file to the catalog, will find that it will be cut down to 20 seconds. This will be for any audio file format (example: OGG File format)
This will not affect products already in the catalog, just new products submitted.
The Terms of Service and Virtual Goods Policy will also reflect these changes.
Feel free to ask any questions you have on this topic, however please keep it to a Q&A. The Moderators will enforce any disruptions to this thread.
Thanks, |
OK, So...You're basically telling us, that While This does not apply to Prior Sound files, and only to new- What that REALLY means, is that our Sound files are going to be slowly and systematically Disabled and/or shortened. Which is a Load of complete BS; and that we will no longer be able to Purchase any that are Already existing in the catalog-The way that things always seem to happen.
So In effect- You're going to take MORE from us, by forcing us to invest in your new "product" if we wish to have access to full length sounds/songs.
Have I got that down, or am I Wrong??
Because, I, Did not BUY 20 second clips of songs. I bought what I have in my inventory, and I would EXPECT to be compensated, rather than end up with LESS than what I Paid for.
