Two questions, really:
#1) How does a person 'climb out' of the idiot pit and join what seems to be the intelligent and creative community(ies) in IMVU? After having this thing for about a day or two, I've met only...1 person who didn't make me want to reach for the 'x' button. In fact, if it wasn't for seeing people on this forum, and how they're entirely different, I would've probably uninstalled this thing and never looked back.
#2) Is the access pass...actually worth the $20? My biggest fears are: getting it only to find that I can't use it because nobody else has it, and that it's pretty lame overall. I'm all for cyber play with intelligent people, so before someone says "it's only good if you want to cyber" then don't worry, I already know.
Thanks for the answers. ^^ |

Ha, I felt the same way when I first joined – then I came across a couple of people that made me change my bind. It take’s time, but not everybody is a complete and utter moron.
As for the access pass – I suggest not buying it at this moment, in fact you can’t. It’s been suspended due to pay pal being a pain the butt. (More info can be found in the latest release section).

Aah, I see then. So until I find decent people, it's lots of suffering through those "chat now" induced encounters? Hooboy, time to break out the headache meds and hide the razor blades.
As for paypal, IMVU should just curb them and anything else that would try to dictate how they may conduct business. They have plenty of other payment methods as it is, don't they? Payment doesn't get any easier than the credit/debit card, and one less payment option is worth keeping the customers who might be looking forward to said content. But that's a discussion for another time, I believe.
Thanks for the feedback. ^^ |

Chat now is like going into a mental hospital full of underaged persons with multiple personality disorders and without a developed language.
The best way to meet new - and sane - people is to either surf pages or check out the forums. I wish IMVU staff would tell people that, because as much a convenience the chat now function is it's guaranteed to leave you feeling like humanity is a virus that needs to be exterminated. _________________

Ha, earlier I was talking to this girl, and somehow she didn't get that I was gay. And she was like:
"taks off ur pants"
I was like
".......I'm gay........You didn't see that when I mentioned I had a boy freind?"
Then she freaked out and told me I am going to hell, when she is the one trying to cyber. XD |

Blegh.
I manipulate the idiots with their own replies causing them to leave me alone and know that I'm right.
If that made sense at all. _________________

Aron, you couldn't be more right. Where do we go to offer up suggestions, seeing how this is still in beta? IMVU should allow us to add filters to our chat now feature, so when anyone spins the wheel, the program sorts through criteria that we set before returning a result, kinda like how that odd search feature works on the website.
OMGIloveyou, I have one that tops that. I just have to post it in the 100ish page thread of stupid IMVU chat sessions. "i want to meet a sexy hot babe with long legs and big boobs lol" "u have them" "don't u?"
As I type this, I have a window open where the guy wants to add me as a friend after asking me the same 2 retarded questions all the others do: asl? wuts ur job? Apparently, asking those 2 things makes you instantly someone's friend. Ugh, I should just click X. I need to learn how to be more cruel. |

Miriannah, maybe you should post some of your suggestions on the suggestions part of the forum, and/or tell IMVU in an email or give matt a bell, he's usually up for ideas. _________________

| Miriannah, you have had what I refer to as the "IMVU hazing ritual", getting most of your chats with teenagers who are so hormonally driven that they get exicited looking at wallpaper, or have so short attention spans that most of thier responses can be summed up in the "ya, no, lol" category. Theres lot of people out there, and AronWinther is right, random chat is pretty much like playing Russian roulette with an automatic weapon; you are pretty much guaranteed to lose. Good thing you did decide to come to the forums, I have met the best people here, because it takes a degree of intelligence to not only have an opinion, but voice it too. |

You're looking for people with the pass that can behave like they have a brain? Let me know if you find any, I get all the horn*y foreign guys. I don't have a pass and am not interested in having it and it would be nice if more than 3/10 of guys in their 20s and up were thinking with the head on their neck and provide a decent convo. _________________

Bleh, I don't care for the Access Pass. I mean, I'm under 18, so I know I have no rights to it. But even when i turn 18, I'm still not gonna bother getting the Access Pass. I'm the kind of girl who gets to know others by talking, not by touchy-feely stuff.
And besides, I have some great friends here on IMVU that I've known for a long time from other sites. _________________

| No offense, but in my opinion, the adult pass is more funny than actually "hot" (I have only seen pictures though from a friend). Also it is funny what gets in there; For example, two guys about to kiss(You can read more in my thread, IMVU = Prudint). But ey, if you like it, its okay, as long as you are okay with other peoples likes and not go all "OMFG!!! THATS SYICK!!!!" |

I don't really care if I can animate my character in 'adult' ways, I just want the outfits that are likely to be associated with it. Naughty clothes are fun. ^^ |
