Windows can be 64bit but you should use the 32bit version of Max 2011 with the IMVU exporters (not the nerseus ones). If you've got all that then maybe show a screenshot with your mesh selected (so we can see the modifier stack) and the error message you get (if any) when exporting?

So does the exporter for 2014 3D max not let you export custom made animated actions?

@Sosaveli: custom mesh animations and custom avatar animations are all supported in pretty much all versions of max. Unless you meant facial animations (which are morph animations) and then no - those can only be exported from Max 2011 and earlier versions. You can, however, create facial animations using the free tools such as those from Deliverance. Or you can pay for a subscription to max and get both the newer version and the 2011 version. Then you can model, animate, export in the newer versions and export the morph animations from 2011.

This is the only thread I've seen that mentions crashing on XAF export with 3ds Max. I'm using 2012 and the export only seems to work if I include ALL of the bones in the skeleton. If I try and remove a portion of the bones .. it crashes. I've tried including the root, as suggested here. But it still crashes. I've tried to find the particular subset of bones that causes the crash .. but thus far I haven't been able to isolate it.

Anyone else having problems with animation exports?

Deep bow of thanks for any information.
