This is kinda silly (so it's okay if it gets ignored), but can a badge/bling be considered for GA users too since AP users get one. I feel kind of left out. lol (On a somewhat serious side this could be nice for some users to display, esp. under 18 ones, who want to let people know they are GA users only).

And is there a badge/bling for C.H.A.I.N? If there is (in that long list) I missed it. If there isn't, could one be made?

Thanks Countess. I am aware of your directory and the bling addicts group...but for the most part I've been too lazy lately to get around to asking for badges. And I actually forgot to post in the post I made above that if anyone wants to give me their badge I won't mind (for those who say to post in the forum thread if you want one...which I guess means this new thread). Smile

For those who say to send a message to your homepage or pm I'll get to you eventually. Smile

I definately would like one from Chicka since she's using hers to advertise other dev's and also like right now info about the old catalog.

(Oh, and thank you Countess and everyone else who sent me bling without my even having to ask! Smile

Dear Dusty

I noticed you haven't posted anything about the badges and the changes you had planned for them.

Most important would probably be the reformating, so our dev reports link is not hidden and our visitors panel fits properly (its especially bad on IE homepages and can only be fixed by using custom css code).

Could you let us know its priority please?

They are low priority, sorry.

Badges are still technically an alpha feature, and the work that gets done on them is in my free time.

I will be fixing 'soon', probably by the end of this weekend:
* Widget kills your 'developer reports' link
* Widget screws up 'my visitors' homepage panel
* API for granting/revoking
* Groups look weird with 6 active members displaying... It should be 4, 8, or use the small widgets.
* Sanitize the badge description: This will fix badge admin for people who have screwed up their page by leaving a tag open or whatever. Also, disable music and javascript in the badge description.

I want to fix all of these, and try a layout with the badges underneath the avpic and the avpic full size, before I suggest making the feature 'real'.

If anyone else has any 'important things' that we should consider before launching on everyone, I'd appreciate it.

Here is my concern about the full avpic size: I really, really want the messages panel to display a full badge area. Not everyone uses the forums, but just about everyone uses homepage messaging. I think the big widgets in the messages panel are pretty close to the breaking point as is.

On the other hand, if the badges were horizontally below the avpic, it would be big enough already that adding another row would probably be ok Smile

I don't know if anyone would be interested in this, I personally would want to keep my avi pic, but is it possible to replace the avi pic with a full rectangle of Blingees instead?

I do like having little sound bytes in widgets but understand not wanting music because the download of a full song has a big hit. I dont know why anyone would want to put javascipt in the pop-up.

My badge (the ginger kitty) has a cute meow and at 15kb I dont think it hurts anything and I've had lots of nice comments about it.
