So...I am pretty frustrated with just about everything in IMVU these days.
It's hard to believe I used to see this place as entertaining, creative, and fun.
I guess you might say I am disenchanted.
So..in being a little beside myself I decided to make a couple of items to express myself creatively...
But what do I discover? Problems. Issues. Bullcrap.
A few months ago I made a collection of bottled beverages, non-alcoholic, sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek products. Truth, Respect, Justice, Fairness, Equality, Dignity, and Unreasonable Demands....
And today...in a state of disbelief I decided to bottle up a couple more items...Gossip and Poo.
Off I go to find the original product by Whystler...which has now been re-rated to AP because it is a bottle of wine. I am now in an awkward position.
Do I derive from W and make my two new additional beverages AP rated, even though they aren't - or - do I derive from myself to retain the GA rating I began with on my new items that match the previous versions?
The price is higher because of this. But I decided GA is the way to go.
Now...Whystler doesn't like it when people leave his items set to derivable. So I didn't do this. Goose showed me how to derive from myself without hurting W's feelings about his product stipulations.
Now..I have two new bottles of non-alcoholic beverages that match my previous versions. I should be happy and go on my merry little way, and odds are I won't sell any of them anyway. It was more of a statement to get my angst out of my system.
So I decided to do a little catalog work to bring ALL of the product line advertisements to the same appeal and look. You all know how long it can take to shoot products and arrange them nicely for our pages.
This is where it gets fun. And I know I have read that some of you have had this very issue. I just think staff doesn't give a crap about us and our processes we go through to fill their catalog up with quality products. We don't "have" to make our pages look pleasing to the eye, but we all know it does enhance everyone's experience while shopping in the crappy catalog.
(I will refrain from touching on that topic right now)
Rob: This is specifically why I have asked you if you have bothered digging into he previewer beyond slapping a few textures on a small item and calling it "done". I want you to experience this crap we deal with.
So anyway...I go to update the catalog advertisements...not the actual product...and I can't. The item I derived from is AP. My product is GA. And I can't update the "description" area.
So...now what the hell do I do? Ignore that I can't have continuity in MY product line because IMVU is insane in their approach to things?
There is much more behind how I feel.
This is just one tiny issue. Trust me. _________________

Oh...geezus Chicka! Did I forget to tell you about the field trip Mr. Adams and his scout troup went on? Man, I am so sorry......They were trying to earn their "Technology Stripe" by helping out with the catalog here!
I found out when I had a similar problem. I couldn't edit my page either. (Although the mesh was NOT AP in my case. It was just hidden.)
